Laurent is literally a pioneer and living legend of the dance music scene.

Check out:

The Man With The Red Face (Original/Jan Driver/Funk D'Void Mixes)
Crispy Bacon (Original/King Unique Mix)
Acid Eiffel
Astral Dreams
Greed
Flashback
Le Voyage De Simone
Jeux D'Enfants

If you can find them, grab the live versions of "Man With The Red Face" and "Acid Eiffel", done with Bugge Wesseltoft, they are awesome.

I was so pissed off that I couldn't see him when he was here a few months ago...

Man, Roskilde had an amazing lineup last year too. Missed it by one day.

Posted by miamitranceman on May-21-2007 23:58:

Acid Eiffel is my fave.

As for remixes...

Resistance D - Human (Laurent Garnier Remix)
Elegia - Basic (Laurent Garnier Remix)

+ everything listed above.

Posted by GrimReaper on May-22-2007 00:13:

To add to the list:

Breathless
Wake Up
Go To Sleep
The Dream (New Age Mix)
Alaska - Lost In Alaska
Moby - Hymn (Laurent's Wake Up Mix)
The Reese Project - I Believe (Laurent Garnier's Frenchman In Stoke-On-Trent Ambient Chill Baseroom Mix)

Sambou!!!

One of my favorites, it's so damn good.

Posted by bamski on May-22-2007 10:52:

The Cloud Making Machine
Notes: On track number 2, 9.01-9:06, we can hear Laurent Garnier's baby born on 9th January 2004, recorded by Laurent at the maternity hospital.

..And if it would be about one track it would be Man With The Red Face.. Offcourse

the man with the red face (jan driver mix) and (funk dvoid mix) are fantastic.

thanks to discogs i have the vinyl . the jan driver mix is apparently relatively rare because laurent didn't like it.

MASSIVE closer for lawler's 2000 essential mix too.

Crispy Bacon, The Man With the Red Face and Acid Eiffel are my favourites. You should get his DVD Unreasonable Live

Just finished listening to 'The man with the red face'. Good track, just wished it had a harder kick though...just waiting for a Sean Tyas rework.

I remember that one to be pretty decent, yes.. I'll have to look that up this evening.

It's not that rare though, Greed , released on F-Comm (which features this remix) has 13 for sale.. Not that expensive either. The (promo) releases of The man with the red face (both of em) are somewhat rarer, that's true. But if it's just about having this remix on 12", you should be able to get it cheap. I might do so, if I do like it as much as I remember

The Man With The Red Face is one of my alltime favorites. A true classic!

The Sound Of The Big Babou is good too. Don't know/remember any other tracks by him, although I have his album Unreasonable Behaviour.

Posted by RJT on May-22-2007 13:37:

His work with Carl Craig is rather nice as well

Posted by slinkyhead on May-22-2007 14:17:

man with the red face is a beautiful song, was the final song at the last ever Slinky @ the Opera House (useless fact), went nicely with Crispy Bacon being the last tune at the first Slinky

Posted by chesco on May-22-2007 14:59:

I do love laurent garnier as a producer and dj.

Few of my personal favourites are

Astral dreams
crispy bacon
The man with the red face - svek remix is also pretty good
controlling the house
Flashback

Posted by Az on May-22-2007 15:04:
