Finally I'm coming to NYC! Special Tips & Must Sees for none 'Everyday-Tourists' PLZ!
ola folks!
i still dont know how we got that working, but certainly from june 20th till july 15th my ass will be around the city in queens!!!
hopefully we can get one or more loft-partys working than
hehe
anyway, besides the nightlife and clubs (which are a must see in your opinion?), i want some tips from you please! considering not only common tourist places like ground-zero, empire state building (those i will check out anyway...) but more some special places, like hard to find not that well-known small places, shops, areas or whatever that really make new york that special city that it is for you new yorkers!
-some neat housetop in the bronx that is only accessible thru some hidden fire ladders to enjoy the sunset or even sunrise up there!?
-some sweet restaurant or bar that is so unique and worthwhile by itself that it totally seperates from the flood of ordinary tourist food-stations!?
whatever crazy or uncommon details are important to you around nyc, i am totally up to everything!!!
so if u think u know something thats worth a look or a visit, please contact me or brianna, or just post here for everyone!!!
i really want to get "absorbed" by the city the way the residents do, much more than the typical tourists do. brian and i are also down for some shooting sessions around the city so i am sure to meet a bunch of you ladies and gentles soon...
cheers and hang loose
Robert!
oh and ofcourse dont hesitate to post good partys around these days (june 20th - july 15th) here also! cauze i am good in overlooking the best threads here
hm
DEF FIVE POINTZ
its a place where there are displays of public graffiti art...its right next to the 7 train route by sunnyside i think...a photographers paradise if u have never been there yet. very well known for those that appreciate this type of artwork. vtec probably knows about it
http://queens.about.com/od/thingtodo/ss/lic_art_2.htm
and im not sure if its open to the public to do this next part...but ppl climb up the narrow stairs that are flush next to the building itself...then up this fire ladder once at the very top...i heard the roofs all have art on them...drew n i tried to do it but i got cold feet...got up maybe two floors and i just decided to come back down... ugh got the shakes
as for restaurants/dessert places: JUNIORS in bklyn (food is fuckin crazy there as well as cheesecakes) and VENIEROS
shake shack (madison sq park)- if only to see what the hype is all about (great burgers, hot dogs, shakes...outdoor seating area)
oh and i just adore everything about the West Village. hmm that could take several days..hahah
a great place to see the NYC skyline and FDR drive (this area in Long Island City i forgot wehre but its by two tall condominums, two piers and its right by the water and i believe the CocaCola sign). i gotta find the name of the Park/Plaza. we saw the July 4th fireworks from this place last year.
another great place to view the NYC skyline...from JERSEY CITY across the Hudson..awesome lil' area in itself. as well as the Brooklyn Promenade
make sure to go with ppl u love being with, that will make the experience even more worthwhile...
-Lyss

July 16th - Luke Fair @ SUllivan Room
dude go to time sq. i hear crazy shit goes down over there!
i wouldnt go to times square but i suppose its worth a look esp if u've never been there before. that is TOURIST central to the NTH!!! but i guess the clashing signs lights next to and even OVERLAPPING each other etc. draws everyone in....Managed chaos? maybe...yeah and overcrowded streets and overpriced EVERYTHING are VERY attractive qualities too...
great for a Broadway show though if thats ur thing.
yeah, i hear the lights are wicked at Times Sq. on shrooms.
FIRSTLY...
thanks alot for the massive feedback, i bet my nuts this will be fucking ace! ![]()

lol why disapointed? its not that i am a crackhead looking only for the next illegal rush lol!
if that place is enjoyable to watch (without a doubt when i see these pics) and even legal to climb up, its even better!
i am raised in a house 19 floors high, so i dont have acrophobia at all
plus i dont want to stress any american bobbies :P i am already busy keeping ours provoked

- go up to the cloisters/fort tryon park for spectacular views of the palisades and the hudson. most tourists (or ny-ers for that matter) are too lazy to venture all the way to inwood.
- same goes for wave hill park in riverdale, which also includes an art gallery and a landscaped botanical garden.
- picnic on governor's island (which opens in june)
- sneak into the abandoned city hall station that closed in the 1940s -- accessible via a short run through the 6-train side of the current city hall/brooklyn bridge stop.
- walk onto (what's left of) the abandoned High Line elevated railyards on the west side. it used to be a 'secret' sort of space, but nowdays everyone's out there and the construction crews are tearingdown/building all the time...
- speak into the whisper wall at Grand Central or take a tour of the place with the Municipal Arts Society. you used to be able to sneak to the top (behind the clock), but the doors are guarded and alarmed now...
- take the train down to coney island. visit the aquarium, walk on the boardwalk, have a beer at Ruby's, then maybe get a pizza at Tottono's. the Mermaid Parade is June 23rd.
- go to this year's Festivus in central park (exact date is in my sig).
- attend an EBC streetball game at the Rucker (season starts end of June) or a lesser quality streetball game @ the west 4th st playground or lafayette gardens (brooklyn).
- check out a minimoo party.
