http://audacity.sourceforge.net/

free...why on earth would you pay $250+ for something you can just record via your mixer, convert it into an mp3...then put it in your ipod?

you can't be that lazy

get a mini disk recorder...im sure you can find one cheap on ebay...i have buddies that use them to record sets, and they really have no issue with it.

this thing looks really cool tho for recording interviews on the move, or even mixes in clubs

why it has an edge over the MD is the lenght of recording, and it has an EQ. for instance when i play at a particular club, im always peaking because the sound system is not loud enough, so i can fix this through the tunestation
looks cool

That tunestudio thing looks too big...

Get the Edirol R-09 or the M-Audio Microtrack (flash based portable recorders). Range from $350-400, but worth it over that tunestudio+ipod.

Minidisc is a dead format, it sucks, period. The audio quality is less than CD quality, the recording time is limited, and getting the digital audio off the recorder is a pain in the ass (and some of the units only let you do it using a sony proprietary format).
