Some of the more observant of you may have noticed the subtle 5-page ad in this weeks 3D World magazine one of the worlds premier dance events is taking its brand across the world, and its put Sydney on the map as one of its upcoming destinations. Thats right, Sensation White is coming to Australia.

And further confirmation has been offered on their website. Check out sensation-white.com, go to the World Tour page and click on Sydney and you get a not-so cryptic message. While other locations like New York and Shanghai bring up the less committal Work In Progress, Sydney on the other hand says Tell Them We Are Coming. Excitement!

Sensation White began as an event in Amsterdam, featuring a music policy of house and trance and an all white dresscode. Be part of the night dress in white is the slogan of the party and its know for its stupendously over-the-top production. Some of the DJs on its lineup in recent years have included Armin van Buuren, Erick Morillo, Ferry Corsten, Marco V, Paul van Dyk, Sander Kleinenberg, Steve Angello and Tisto at events with as many as 40,000 punters in attendance.

Damnit, why Sydney and not Melbourne?

Can justify a road trip to Melbourne, but not going to fly all the way to Sydney even for something as big as this, let alone try convince some of my financially-challenged, EDM-impartial friends to come along.

Posted by Fledz on May-22-2007 12:55:

Because Sydney is the number 1 Aus city, as much as some of you may think Melbourne is.

Plus, it's got nicer weather and you will all roadtrip it down.

Most of us would roadtrip it to Melb for such an event, so I see no reason why it wouldn't work vice versa.

As for those of you in Ade, Per etc, I'm sure you will find a way if the lineup is good enough

Here are some more pics from 2004.

I predict (hope for) Paul Van Dyk. Perhaps Tiest0r and Ferry. ZOMG Gouryella reunion! :P

Hey screw that, 'I'd' find a way if the lineup is good enough, it's finding a way to convince a friend or two to come all the way to sydney for 'some of that techno stuff' that's the hard part.

Ah well, hopefully going to Europe next year at some time, can catch one of the sensation parties then.

Dancing Dude

yeah i could safely say I would make the trip up to Syd for it, depending on the lineup I guess.... Not a huge fan of Sydney, although I really do like the harbor but thats about it..

Jordo delete ya double post nubcakes!!!!

Sif you need your friends in a stadium filled with thousands of people and no doubt some AUTA's

If it's an absolute must tell your mates to go with you to check out Sydney for a few days. They can do their own thing on the night that Sensation is on, OR show them any of the Sensation White DVDs and see what they think. I saw one of the DVDs and I immediately HAD TO BE THERE, so in 2004 I was.

I'm guessing it'll be more house than it is techno anyway, unless of course your friends refer to everything EDM as "techno".

If you are headed to Europe then yes, do a Sensation. It's an experience and a half.

Holy freaking crap.

Yeah, they're the 'all EDM = techno' type. Which is fair enough, because everybody not acquianted with the different genres does the same.

I do a fair bit of going along to edm parties alone as it is, because as I said, most of my friends here are your typical poor Uni student, so it's kind of hard to ask them go go spend (what is to them) a fair chunk of money to come along to an event they won't really enjoy that much.

Figure I'll just wait until I go to Europe and hit one of the Sensations there, I'll be travelling around by myself anyway, so it'll all be part of the experience, not to mention cheaper.

who's up for tv rock headline!?
The previous sensation white in amsterdam was pretty lectro anyway from memory. david guetta, steve angello, sander k, would love to see ferry again but I think he's been in Australia a fair bit lately.
If the lineup is good enough I might (MIGHT) come up to syd, virgin/sh*tstar better have some good deals.
