Guvernment Renovations.

What do you think of the renovations? (so far)
For example, the lightwall above the bar, bathroom changes, the stage, yadda yadda.






Don't bite my head off for not knowing EVERY SINGLE FUCKING THING that goes on with Guv. Not everyone works for Guv or whatever.

havent seen them yet but from what i have heard its not 100% done yet

supposedly they are making a hydrolic dj booth where the stage is now.... i think that will make the new guv much better than the old one

the renovations are not finished yet. this poll is useless

its possible to have an opinion on whats already been changed, like the lightwall thing above the bar

although i like some changes, for the most part I was unimpressed with the renovation.

Obviously the new guv is better, but overall, I was also unimpressed - the novelty wore off after 30 mins.

As a preliminary comment, I felt that the renovations make the room appear far smaller than before. Also, that huge light display, I thought, was quite boring.

Agreed. The light wall was neat, but it doesn't do a whole lot.. but it makes the room a little too bright(the darker the better). Plus I think the place looks a little more fancy now which I'm not a huge fan of. I'll make a final judgment call after they are complete. Maybe they'll turn it around.

As for whoever commented on the ceiling being ugly under the new platform near the dj booth.. I liked it.. it gives a raw feeling, which I like. Anything that makes a club look like a converted warehouse makes me happy.

lightwall is hack....i liked those warehouse fans alot better

i honestly dont like anything done with it soo far.. i dont see how this can even be considered a major renovation.. if anything its just a cosmetic upgrade.. i was under the impression that it was a 3 million dollar project and that the place was being completely gutted.. lol.. yah right..what was the big secret about when it was getting reno'd,lights?? the biggest problem was the isolated dj booth, AND ITS STILL THERE c'mon.. although the sound has improved, much of it has stayed the same IMO. as for the hydr. dj booth, if that is whats happening, that money could definately be used for something more appropriate like a venting system in the drink or more stalls in the mens washroom.. something we need not want. as mentioned earlier its the same thing after 30 mins or so.. and with that comes the same quality of atmosphere and vibe as before the renos.. no difference if you ask me, its unfourtunate..

it would be neat if someone created a show called club makeover similar to the show retaurant makeover.. cuz guv needs some proffesional help..

I'm an extremely picky person and was really attached to the old guv.


Also.. not completely related to renovations, but can anyone tell me what these boxes that hang from the ceiling are for? I've also wondered.. they look so weird...

Is it some sensor for the lights or something? wtf is that? lol

I agree with everyone thing you said.

VIP/Bottle Service on the main floor is retarded. What's the point of that for club, when the club is opened 5 hours after last call.

And the sound, when I'm there, I feel like the sound isn't loud enough, unless you're in the middle of the dance floor... they need speakers along the walls.

Things I do like about the renovations is how the bars are smaller and how the stage has the expanded walkway/lounge along the back wall. Other than that I'll have to wait for the renos to be finished and also go there on a regular night to see how everything goes.

something to give dancers their dancing place and those who walk around theirs
