Xone:92 filters and monitor
Hey guys
I got a quick question that maybe some of you might know. I'd like to put the filters effects of my Xone:92 in the headphones (Monitor output) when a channel (song) is on cue. Even if I turn the knobs when the filter is on, it doesn't work in the monitor, only on the main outputs. The filters effects don't seem to be routed to headphones.
Anyone can help me out on this one ???
Thanks
Neo
You can't monitor the filters on the xone92.
When I first got mine about 2 months ago, I also thought that this would be a problem but a after a while of using the filters you'll start to just know what it will sound like before your activate the filter 'live' - if you know what I mean.
Just keep using them and soon it will all become natural to ya
doh
What if I need to find the frequency of a vocals (or sound) that I like while I'm live ? Can I use the Booth output with filters ?

gonna post my question here instead of making a new thread.
does everyone have a small click/glitch in the sound when activating the filters? i just got my xone:92 rotary a while ago and i've noticed this and i have to say that i find it quite annoying. the manual says that you have to assign the channel to either of the filters before turning the filter on to avoid these clicks (i think it was this way, not the other way around), but it doesn't matter which way i do it, the clicks are still there.
so should i send it back or what?

You are correct. The Xone's make a click when engaging the filter. Even the 3D does it.
One little trick I found after having the 92 for a long time... the filter engage seems to have a little capacitance to it. So after you first turn your mixer on, with no music playing... try turning off and on the filters a few times. The first few clicks are much louder than the subsequent.
As long as you do that a few times before you start playing, and use the filters on beat, the click won't be a problem.

From what I've read, most if not all mixers give this slight click sound when activating the filters. Anyway, if you activate the filter on the beat (which I presume you would do anyway), you will not hear this sound. |
ok. thanks guys. and i would activate the filters on beat, but i haven't really even tried to work them in a mix, just played around with them to see how they work, flicking them on/off at random points, thus noticing the clicks better.
I just keep the HP filter on at all times, then I don't have to worry about the popping noise.
