Cool Which Highways do you love to speed on the most ?

I love speeding on HWY 403 ,HWY 427 North and QEW both ways, i think its one of the most smoothest roads where even if your going 140 or 160 it still feels like your doing 100 i dunno........

I cant control myself i go crazy.

Which highways do you guys love to speed on ????

403 is the smoothest, nicest highway ever
and most of hte time its pretty empty

rarely see cops on there also, only once after HWY 10/Hurontario exit

This thread should bring back memories for several people here...

you have obviously never been on the 407
between 427 and east of the 404 in a speeding paradise.

403 between winston churchill and hurontario nice stretch.
400 whole thing.
qew straight away between trafalgar and guelph line, get nice speed boost off ford hill careful for cops and bumpy section over bronte creek
.

none of those should be done during the daytime though, only "safe" time would be 11pm - 5am, theres just too much traffic in toronto and not worth it.

403 between mavis and winston churchill

401 stretch between mavis and 427

although the fastest I've ever gone was on 401 on my way to Kitchener.

400

Speeding on the 400 isn't even speeding sometimes. I've been going 160 while the flow of traffic is going >130 yeah!!!!!

But I have to say the most fun seeding I ever had was on the I 75 and I 77 or 79 (I forget exactly) going south through the states on my way to Florida.

We made it there in around 17 hours (including stops for Gas, Food) when mapquest said it would take like 21.

speeding is just wrong.....you should all be charged with careless driving....and you idiots wonder why you pay so much for insurance.....assclowns

Posted by ak87 on May-26-2007 15:16:

are you a cop?

wouldn't you like to know.

The worste thing the Ontario Government ever did was get rid of photo radar.....I say bring it back and have it on every single bridge on every single 400 series highway.....that would show all you assclowns when you got 8 speeding tickets in one trip down the 401

Posted by DigiNut on May-26-2007 16:09:

Speeding (not racing/careless driving, that's an automatic suspension and summons) is fine as long as the traffic is light. Otherwise you should be going with the flow - period.

You guys going 150 to 160 or above will pay for it eventually, even if you don't rear-end a school bus. It's a constant annoyance that I have to pay higher insurance rates because other idiots in my age group think they're stunt drivers.

Photo radar though, ugh... if those things could adjust their thresholds to 20 or 30 above the traffic flow then it might make sense, but mailing tickets to everyone who exceeds a deliberately under-posted speed limit, that's just an obvious cash grab.

Seriously, if I always had to drive 100, I'd shoot myself.. or stop driving completely. Or drive 100 on the streets. Probably the latter.

I'm not going to come here and tell you what to to...

But recently a friend of mine was busted going 152 in a 100.

Anything 50 over is...

1)Immediate suspension of license
2)Automatic Court Date
3)Possible Criminal Charges
4)Ticket somewhere in the neighbourhood of 500 Bucks

Posted by LightsOut on May-26-2007 16:57:

yeah speeding can certianly ruin you if your caught....more then 50 is over carries some pretty steep penalties...

if im going to speed onsay the DVP for example or the Allen...i try to keep it to about 130 and no more...its just not worth it...

But if im on the 407...i dunno why but i feel so safe their...no traffic and i never really see any cops...so if im in a rush sometimes i'll boot it lol

Posted by Yohan on May-26-2007 17:11:

I get a laugh whenever someone bitches about getting caught breaking the law.

407 between 404 and 403 is amazing to fly on.
427 south of 401 is fucking hell. they need to shut that bitch down for a couple weeks and re-pave the whole thing.

They can set the machine to whatever speed they want. I agree...set it at 20 over the speed limit....then let the money flow in.

Posted by DigiNut on May-26-2007 18:45:

I didn't say 20 over the speed limit, I said 20 over the traffic flow. If the traffic speed is 120 then the people going 100 are more deserving of fines than the ones going 130 to pass somebody.

There is no other way that photo radar can be taken seriously.

seeing how in germany certain parts of hte autobahn have no speed limit

i dont see why we couldnt implement that here, during certain times of the night when theres barely any cars on the road

Chinese Canadians.

What does that have to do with anything?

I agree that it's pretty stupid to be doing anything over 120-130 on the HWY. But with the gas prices so high, it's more gas efficient if you're going 110-120 compared to 100. And if you want to save a lot of gas make sure you tailgate trucks and buses
