Awesome atmosphere and nice bass! Really cool! Just think I would prefer it without the vocal sample. However, great job!

Takere!

I had to include the vocal sample since it was in the original..

shame on me for not hearing the original.

what can I say, quality as always (just dont like the kick)

nice fx btw

you've got a great groove right from the start with the hihats and all, I seem to fail to understand how to make that..

the bass sounds pretty standard, but it's placed hell well in the mix.

..do you have magnus choir?!

*reminds me, hows the album with kopi coming along?*

4:12, which was a bit long for my taste.. im more of the 6-7 minutes tracks

the break was well worth it though. the crash seems a bit loud, but it has to be my ears

nice I know that melody from somewhere.. I think ive just got the age to have just missed the big rise of trance.

cool when the kick comes back reminds me a little of lethal industry by tiesto.. I think due to the bass and lead combo

whoa. nice acid!

nice build down, ah there's the magnus again

fx are widely spread throughout this track, you did it really well!

Posted by Subtle on May-27-2007 16:05:

The choir is sampled straight from the original.. if that Magnus choir sounds similar i be sure to check that one out.

Haha, im not making an album with Kopi, confusing with someone else maybe ?

Thanks for the comment.. much appreciate.. think i need to fix those loud crashes.

Posted by Takkra on May-27-2007 19:37:

the magnus choir vst is amazing . costly though.

hmm, guess I'm confusing you with someone else then. (it would still be cool anyway ).

Mister subtle,
I personally dont like the kick, it has too much high and midle end.
Nice overall sound, big, that gated synth is a nice adition.
Hehehe, is that a lama? I hear a lama singing! :P
The choir does not fit at all dude, u gotta check out the pitch, dunno, feels out of the mix for me, it become smore noticeable when the bass appears, not nice disonance, creates tension in my ears :P.
Break is pretty heavy.
In overall, pretty good job, two thumbs up for the overall sounds, is big, full.
Kopi =o.

Posted by Nemesis44 on May-28-2007 13:19:

With Kopi on this one.
The choir is off pitch, it's actually out of tune and doesn't work sorry man.

The kick is ok in my book but does perhaps need a little punch as the track drags a little at the moment. It seems to occupy too much head room.

Nice work though.

Cheers

I liked the bulk of this songs and I loved the little details and stabs here and there. Am I the only one who thinks that the offbeat bass is in the wrong key? Or is it the choir. I can't tell. Not my cup of tea but a great production (quality wise)

No you are not the only one, as you said there is definately something not right. It's not the only place it happens and sometimes its with some other elements.

Ow.. more that notice the offkey thing.. i cant quite hear it myself.. my ears arent that trained.. but i think ur right.

The tune itself is in the key of A Minor.. and the choir is sampled from the original. Anybody with a trained ear who can hear what pitch the choir is in ?

sounds to me that the bassline does not fit but thats just my opinion... choirs sounds to samply for my taste... nice FX... nice padwork... u should add more breaks imo... percussion are abit boring for my taste... nice synthwork... kick is very nice... ok tempo... you should add some more happening to your track... IMO its way to dragged out... good luck on this...

Hey subtle

I listened yesterday, so I'm commenting now.

I like the intro percs, they fit well...bass is nice too, but as mentioned before it may be off key with the choir sample...though I give you a big thumbs up for trying to remix this track, it's a hard thing to do seeing as the original is so great. But you definitely gave it the subtle style

Posted by Subtle on May-28-2007 22:38:

Thanks.. rich and meloslave..

Im currently putting it offline until i have fixed the issue.

Ok Just checking! After a second listen I'm sticking with my orig review. I still really like some elements of the song but that choir or bass that is off seems to ruin the song for me, which is a shame. I'd love to hear some progress on this!

Hey harRis, ive replaced the track with a sample.

Happy2Listen, im on it.. just gotta summon some expert help

Posted by The Drow on May-29-2007 07:54:

The intro percussions sounds really funky.
I'm not sure I like the second kick(?) or is it something else but it's too upfront.
The bass is too standard. Add a bit more resonance to it and maybe some minor delay.
Yup the bass is dissonant when the choir comes.
The break is nice.
You did make the lead bigger. It works.
I'm expecting some arpeggio below it. You like to add arpeggios lol what happened?
The percussions still sounds really funky and not porgish subtle style imo. I still like them.
I need more interesting elements in the build up.
Maybe a melody that will work above that choir.
Change the bass sound and the pattern it is really annoying and it doesn't fit to the track.
Try to make a more driving bassline so the track will be more driving.
This can be easily a club track. Just work more on it.
The length is fine.

nice pads in beginning, (i dont know the original mix)

nothing wrong with the cymbals imo.. just maybe a little too "straight forward" 1:18 sounds cool nice buildup, a heavier/punchier kick would be nicer imo. maybe fill up the beginning with some percussions to keep the tune in balance. overall a nice tune but its missing something yet i dunno what.. maybe some arps or a second melody in the beginning to give it a bit more variation.. nice tune! would love to hear the finished version

good luck.,

Bidor

Thanks Drow and Bidor.. gonna make it my life`s work to make this remix good.

Posted by Subtle on Jun-02-2007 18:34:

Track updated and done.

Posted by The Drow on Jun-02-2007 19:24:

The percussions are still really funky.
I'm expecting some wah wah guitars and bass guitar bassline.
Instead I'm getting that standard bassline you used.
The bass is too static for my taste.
I can't notice any change from the last version except the part that you omitted the bassline.
The lead still sounds great.
I still miss an arp or a second melody.
