windows problem - everything is turned sideways
so i was pressing the alt + back arrow combo to go back, and i missed and hit some unknown combo of keys. the screen flcikered off and on and everything is now sideways. the start bar is on the right side of the screen, the menu bar for this broswer is on the left side. as i type this, the text is going from bottom to top. how do i fix this. btw this is not on vista, it's the onewith the blue bar and green 'start' button (idk the name, it's not my computer)

turn your monitor on it's side. fixed
don't buy illegal copies of your os from afganistan named WEENDOWS
Ctrl + Alt + Relevant arrow keys I think.
thanks mikey
Did you figure out what the shortcut combo was?
All I know is that you can set it in the display settings portion of the control panel. I tried turning my computer (notebook) sideways for a while (to take up less desk space), but it wasn't worth it.

maybe the answer is in the 'tipping' thread ![]()
Check the control panel for your gfx card. Most cards in the last two years usually have an option to rotate the screen somehow.

Correct...CTRL + ALT + UP will fix the problem.
I too discovered this shortcut by accident, since then I've been turning all the displays upside down on every computer in reach and silently laughing at my colleagues' bewildered looks.

maybe it depends on your computer? i have a thinkpad and it works when it is docked or when i use it at home.
edit:
so i just tried 3 other computers at work and it only works on mine. i am thinking maybe i accidentally enabled this "feature" the first time it happened?

That happened to me at work, still don't know what keys I hit to make it turn sideways, don't wanna know. But the fix for me was to right click on the desktop and select the graphics driver menu option that allowed me to switch it back.
it has to be enabled. its a hotkey.
