Mixer for a hip-hop/turntablist dj?
I have been djing for about a year now, and I would really like to get into scratching/hiphop/turntablism/smapling ya da ya da. What company makes the best mixer? I am looking for a 3+ channel mixer.
For a 3 channel I'd go with the Rane Empath, but for turntablism you only need a 2 channel.

but I got the rig at a good price so thought why not take the plunge
You will find that most scratch mixers are two channel. You should check this link out. It will help you out a lot.

The are the best in my opinion. They are in my order of choice.
1.- Rane TTM57 w/Serato & Effects Built In ($1400)
2.- Rane TTM56 ($700)
3.- Rodec ScratchBox ($1400)
4.- Pioneer DJM909 ($800)
5.- Allen & Heath Xone 02 ($500)
6.- Rane Empath (awesome 3 Channel scratch mixer) ($1000)
7.- Vestax 05 & 07 Series ($400 & up)(I HATE THIS MIXERS WITH A PASSION)
Rane - TTM57
It's all about the Pioneer DJM-909 I had it for a couple months and I loved it.
You forgot the HAK 360 and 380
il add the mackie d.2

If you are going to scratch a lot, I would go with either the Rane TTM56 or TTM57. There are some other mixers that have a non-contact (optical or magnetic) crossfader like the Pioneer 909 but I'm not sure of any of those also have that on the individual line faders. The Rane 56 and 57 have magnetic (never wear out and get staticy) faders on both the crossfader and the line ones.
