Help WITH FL STUDIOes.

Hi, my name is Cristian Fuentes, I just bought a copy of FL studio 7. It came with really bad sounds. I really want to start making trance ch00ns but the kick that comes with FL doesnt sound as strong as the ones in Sean Tyas' tracks. Someone told me ST uses FL Studio 4. Do I need to buy that version to get the really hard kix??? Also, does the wasp have the rolling bass thingie? So I can make rolling basslines. Anways, thanks guyss!! Where can I get a turotial list for producing with FL??

Um... Kris, I remember you. I've got one of your mp3s somewhere saved on here that you were feverishly working on. You are no trance noob, if I remember accurately what I heard of you (pretty cool mp3... I'll post it when I find it).

You are either:
1. Deadly serious... (in which case you are either)
--A- Stoned...
--B- Suffering Amnesia...
--C- Not quite honest with the equipment you were using when you made a trance tune a while back...
--D- Not the real Kris

2. Making Fun of everyone on the board who is asking questions about their FLStudio useage.

3. Simply wanting to see what kind of reaction you are going to get.

PS -- Who Friggen cares what Sean Tyras uses... make your own music...

You need to buy the expansion pack mate..."Sean Tyas 'Hard Kick up The Arse' bolt on"...I'm afraid there's no other way to do it.
Plus you could also buy the other expansive pack: "Good sounds", as the presets are shit that come with FL.
As for the rolling bass, try the plugin 'Rolling Bass VST', just use it as an FX and it automatically makes your bass rolling.

Me thinks someone is fed up with the noobish Fruity Loop questions posted here. Seems to be a lot of them lately. It does get old, but I just ignore them. I clicked on one just now though, because I could tell it was the one that set off Kris here. What bugs me most is not the basic FL questions, it's the fact that a lot of these people know nothing at all about music, and don't even play an instrument. I never do understand why they think composing music is so easy, as if just about anyone can do it well. I imagine they hear Armin or someone like that, and think, "Oh, I can do that." I'm sure after a month or so they give up on being a producer, and go back to playing world of warcraft.

hes just a young child now people, be easy!

this thread delivers the goods.

remember, to become a pro at fruity loops, all you need is the Vengeance Essential Trance In A Cup Pack.

and if you really want to act like you know what you're talking about.. just say the words "side chain" in every second sentence.

three rules thatll guarantee success in trance production...

1.sidechain
2.sidechain
3.sidechain

Also, remember that eventually you will have to move on from FL as no decent track has ever been made using this child's toy. Ever. Fact!

Funny, hasn't he been on these boards? He's a big deal on the anjuna label. I actually quite like Anjuna, I think they're bringing out top tunes, but this thread is stil hilarious. And there is nothing worse than fruity noobs lol.

I don't know whether you're joking or not :/

i've gotten some pretty solid sounds from fl studio. fl slayer is good for guitar sounds if you use it right. 3xosc isn't that bad for basslines. fl studio actually has a lot of functions that aren't simple. just an opinion. i just think that fl studio should get some respect cuz it does do the job well.

Posted by B_man on Jun-01-2007 01:11:

My V-Station sounds exactly the same in FLStudio as it does in the Cubase... the same with the Vanguard, or Linplug's Octopus, or any sample that I feed.

FLStudio's limitations are basically because you are not using it as a canvas. If you prefer a different workflow, that's perfectly fine... otherwise if it's because your basslines can never "roll" properly you need to read up on synthesis and effects processing.

In my 4 odd years of being an FL user, I'm going to have to piss in the wind of alot of you with the "sound quality" debate.

The summing of FL is no different from any other 32bit float DAW. That is the main argument in the sound quality debate. From that perspective, they are all pretty much the same. Lets get that out of the way first.

However, just prior to my Cubase migration, I found some VST instruments to be very temperamental. One example being Korg Legacy. Often I would play through the song, stop, rewind, and the synth would sound slightly different. This wasn't an LFO/modulation issue either, as the difference would sustain itself for the entire duration of the song until I stopped and rewound again a few times.

Crappy coding? Yes.

It's not that FL has any worse sound quality, but it's handling of a few plugins was iffy at times. Thats the only fault I believe FL has other than the fact that it has SHIT dual core support. I've not had any of these problems in Cubase yet, but Cubase has crashed on me more times in the last month than FL has in the last 4 years.

Before you ask... yes... legit Cubase Studio 4.
MOST of my plugins are legit too.
