Posted by flutlicht junky on Jun-04-2007 16:36:

Mark 2, it means 2nd version. You not heard that expression b4?

I personally prefer the look of the old ones. I find them ALOT better looking.

it said on mackie's web site that the new ones got passive radiators to extend low end response. interesting..

The HR824/624 were radiator designs too :P

About bloody time they updated their hardware. It was starting to get a bit worse for wear with lots of newer brands using much newer technology.

Can't really say anything until we hear it but it's Mackie so it should at least be good. Pretty cheap aswell.

OMFG! How did I miss this?

Now where to demo......?

To be honest, from a glance it looks like the same driver as the HR824 but then again if it aint broke, don't fix it......

Posted by nutsan on Jun-05-2007 12:11:

seems i wasn't the only one to of missed these then

i guessed it was coming due to the price drop on some websites. lets just see how long it takes to be released. if its anyhing like the d.4 dj mixer which was released in jan but stock still hasn't reached suppliers, then it ill be a long time. saying that the new mackie control stuff came out reasonably quick.

Holy shit echosystm, i looked in the back of mines and there they are hidden behind the amplifiers. Is that why they sound boomier if placed closer to the corners of the room? I am not too excited about new look though, the old ones look fine to me.

I may not be completely up to speed on this, but I seem to of the recollection that when I was shopping for monitors, the HRxxx were much more expensive than 600/400 apiece. Of the prices changed that much? I ofn't been checking a lot, so I might of missed it. Do you of any idea where to get them most cheaply?

Posted by nutsan on Jun-06-2007 14:06:

here in the uk you can get hr624 for 499 a pair including mopads and cables, and ive seen hr824 for 670 a pair.

They look quite genelec-ish... Alas, I'm selling my HR824's in favor of ADAM P11a. Loved hese Mackies but I hear I will love my ADAMs even more.
