ID Contest 52
Hi there, it's me again.
Ok, so my last contest didn't turn out very well.
For this round you're guaranteed to run into lots of trance from the late 90's era, some well-known progressive house and a bit of techno sprinkled in.
The rules:
75 tracks, points rewarded as follows:
Take for instance the track Audion - Mouth to mouth (Mantap mix by Heartthrob):
Audion - ?? -> 1 point
?? - Mouth to mouth (Mantap mix by Heartthrob) -> 2 points
Audion - Ass to mouth (Mantap mix by Heartthrob) -> 2 points
Audion - Mouth to mouth (Mantap mix by Heartthrob) -> 3 points!
In other words, each part of the title (artist/title/mix) is worth 1 point. Additional tags such as Original Mix, Dub/Vocal Mix or Radio Edit do not need to be mentioned unless the radio edit/club mix/whatever is significantly different to the original.
Hints will be given out later.
PM me your answers, you've got until June 20th, 11:59 GMT to do it.
EDIT: New link, the old one expired, click here.
Good contest, lots of recognizable tunes. Gonna be some high scores I believe.
Ory, I think you should share all the tracks that we don't know. There's some great stuff in this one. Gimme gimme please with sugar!

I sense a 2 digit number of points on this one
ORY?!?! haven't heard that name for a while, the infamous little shit :P
Will d/l this at a better time, something that's not 11:20 at night.
Let's see if I can find more time so I can do something else than just listen contest straight through once. Maybe I should check this one...

Just to clarify a bit on the uniques: I only count a full ID as a unique, so you must get all 3 possible points on any one track to gain a unique point. I will count it as a unique EVEN IF another contestant has figured out PARTS of the track in question. Of course, when 2 or more contestants have figured out all 3 points worth of a track, it ceases to be a unique.
Yes.
Now get going.
Oh, and, most ID:ed track is currently #19. Most partially ID:ed track is #39. Now you may go.
Page don't exist
Just when i have time
Thanks idoru for the lovely 404 page.
i gave it a listen but couldn't have got more than about 20 points so will pass on this one. although figured i'd make some sort of useful contribution by mirroring the contest pack (seeing as the original link seems to have died):

I'll be giving hints to unidentified tracks soon.
Wow, I suck at this... I'm half way through it and I managed to ID just one.
Edit: And I'll be entering just because of one ID I Really like. ![]()
Some improvements in the scoreboard, and a new entry.

If I manage to keep my unique ID 'till the end of contest I'll be very damn proud of myself.
New scoreboard. Mart takes 2nd place in both charts, and Mr.Mystery's large amount of uniques are slowly being knocked off.

I'm typing up the hints as we speak.
Hints, round one. More to come.
01. Two producers whose most famous track is featured on the Bedrock mixed compilation from 1999. Listen to the vocal.
02. Another production group who are known for everything from progressive house and trance to downtempo and drum'n'bass. Their most famous track (not this one, mind you), released in 1994, is a universally accepted classic.
06. The producer of this track seems quite horny.
It must be the baseball cap.
08. One of Detroit's originators on the buttons here, with a remix by another Detroit inhabitant whose work is popular among anyone who plays house or techno. Released on KMS.
10. The original is by one of the most respected producers in trance, with releases on Harthouse, Superstition, Fax, Platipus, Hooj, well just about every big trance label out there. This particular track was released on Harthouse in 1994.
11. The group behind this one is mostly known for hardcore/acid/breakbeat type stuff. Their name refers to an interstellar cloud of dust. Released in 1996 on a compilation.
13. One of the giants in the acid house genre, who sadly died in 1996, is on the remix here. The original artist is somewhat hard to describe, in letters anyway.
14. Has had numerous releases on the Playhouse label. This is from his 2000 album.
15. Featured in the Goa Mix.
17. Two producers in a collaboration whose first names both start with M. Somewhat heavily played by Paul van Dyk.
20. Big progressive house classic. A mix of it is featured on Sasha & Digweed's Renaissance compilation.
21. An artist mainly signed to a certain French label, but he himself is from far up north.
The track has been seen on many compilations, and was apparently good enough to warrant 3 remixes.
23. The trackname describes quite an encompassing waterfront.
Released in 2000.
24. The remixer was one of John Digweed's "proteges" back in 2002 or so. The original track is quite a known trance classic.
25. Released on Planet Rhythm Records. One of the producers makes hard bangin' techno today, but as demonstrated, made brilliant trance back in the day.
26. FSOL under an alias. As with 13, the trackname is quite difficult to describe with letters.
27. The original producer made another track which was later seemingly ripped off by Matt Darey. The remixer likes to eat everything.
28. Same guy as number 10. The trackname describes an electron's jump between different energy levels.
29. Maybe not.
Released in 1981. One of the members was in Einstrzende Neubauten.
Some updates. Tribu seems to have, err, misplaced his ability to log in, but I'm still gonna post his scores.
He manages to nick FuzzyChicken's unique, too. Also, it seems I forgot to update lacks' uniques. Dunno what happened there.
