[MEL] Man dies after fight outside QBH

Another one

Homicide squad detectives want to talk to a group of men involved in a fight outside a Melbourne nightclub in the early hours of May 27 that led to the death of a 22 year-old man.

Police said at 4am (AEST) on Sunday, May 27, Shannon McCormack and friends left the QBH nightclub and were walking towards the city along Queens Bridge Street when a scuffle broke out with three men.

It's believed Mr McCormack, from Eltham in Melbourne's north east, fell to the ground and struck his head during the fight, sustaining a serious head injury.

After being given first aid by his friends and nightclub staff, Mr McCormack was driven home but his condition deteriorated and he was taken to the Austin Hospital by his parents where he underwent several operations.

However, he did not regain consciousness and died as a result of his injuries last Sunday.

Police want to speak to three men who were in the fight and who may not be aware of the fatal injury suffered by Mr McCormack.

Two of the men are described as being in the early 20s with one wearing blue denim jeans and a dark-coloured top while the other is of solid build, with curly short hair and wearing a light coloured top.

There was no description of the third man.

Whats it got to do with QBH? They left QBH and were towards the city...

Yeah i know.. clubs don't endorse violence.. associating it with a club is typical "60 minutes" bullshit.

"Man dies after fight on Queens Bridge"

doesn't have quite the same ring to it.

great reporting.

If nightclub staff were giving him first aid he obviously wasn't far from there. If he had serious head injuries maybe someone should've called an ambulance rather than driving him home

That's it. After knocked in the head you'd think they would seek medical assistance.

Does anyone else find it odd that all these people dying lately are due to sustaining head injuries by falling to the ground?

Equip the kids with stuff! Stuff always helps to avoid head injury and ensuing death.

Hehe I'm not doubting a fall on concrete would kill you pkc, just that all these people seem to be getting killed the same way!
