booka shade, m.a.n.d.y. , olav basoski

I have never heard any of them. How would you describe their style? Who is more housey, mandy or booka shade? How cheesy is Basoski?

i mean their dj sets

I'd rate Olav above the others

Haven't heard any sets by bookashade or olav, but mandy's mixes are *great*! They play mostly some sort of tech-house (well the tracks end up on beatport's minimal section), but always with lots of energy, fun music.

i think the guys from mandy are homosexual..

but i guess there ok there sound is sort of minimal.

M.A.N.D.Y. played here in Montreal a couple months ago, it was FUCKING SICK.

Booka Shade also kick ass, I cant say who's better between the two groups of gents because all 4 of them are INSANE INSANE INSANE DJs/performers/producers.

Just go look up these guys on Beatport and buy all their stuff, well worth it, also pick up any livesets you can of them because they're all minimal/techno/tech house/proggy influenced (wee bit of electro in there sometimes) MADNESS!!!!!!!!!!!

booka shade and mandy are similar while basoki is way funkier and just louder generally production wise.

All of these groups are amazing! Olav is much much much much funkier and faster though. Just go to www.juno.co.uk and listen to their releases

i like booka shade and some of m.a.n.d.y ... i didn't really like the "body language" track that much though... i would say booka shade is a little more "simpler" in their sound but they manage to make it sound well. my favorite track of theirs is "triple identity"..it's simple but i love it.

i've ever heard of olav's work...

its because their tracks are well produced and every single hi hat and what not is eq'ed perfectly and done professionally. Not like a bunch of hacks who submit cluttered messy tracks on beatport every other day.

Basoski's doing more funky house these days. High tempo stuff.
Some productions are a bit cheesy though

the remix of oh yeah sums booka shade up perfectly

I agree! I've always gone to trance headlining gigs but decided to check M.A.N.D.Y. when they were in city and they are by far one of my favorites! Their set, energy, friendliness, Patrick's tiesto jokes, crowds vibe, crowd level dj booth setup and club could have not been more perfect! well except Patrick's serato not working properly for some reason. i usually dont dance but they had me dancing through out their set and even thanked me at the end

if you have a get physical label night near your place, don't hesitate to check out "Heidi". She played an awesome set @ Vanguard imo, Refuge would concur I think
