| Off-duty police officer killed in London, Ont. Updated Thu. Jun. 7 2007 8:52 AM ET CTV.ca News Staff An off-duty officer was among two people killed inside a van, London police confirmed Thursday. The victims were shot inside a van, which then crashed into a building just after midnight. At this point in the investigation, authorities believe the victims died as a result of the shooting and not the crash. Police arrived at the scene after receiving a call that the vehicle had crashed into the building at 7 Picton St. Emergency services personnel arrived on the scene to find both the driver and passenger unconscious inside the vehicle, London police service said in a news release. They were transported to the hospital, where they were both pronounced dead. The identities of the victims will not be released until the next of kin is notified. London police say several people were witness to the collision and are urging them to come forward with any information. |
Sorry to hear that ! ... scary ! shot off duty ? not cool !
I wonder what happened ...
damn, thats intense...off duty shot in van? first thing that comes to mind is pre-meditated
Toronto has pushed a lot of organized crime out of the city in the last year, unfortunately it has moved to London.
nutso. RIP
gonzo. rip.
RIP
wow.. thats really sad..
i wonder if the police force approaches the investigation more seriously if a cop is killed on duty rather than off duty..?
if he is killed off duty is he still considred a figure of authority or just a civillian...?
does the justice system look at the suspect as if he killed a cop or a civillian..??

The London free press is painting this as a murder/suicide. The news channel is reporting that the murder has 'nothing to do with his duties as a police officer'.
No matter which way you look at this situation, it is truly sad

gun crime in london is out of control...... whether or not it's related here. since i moved down to london in jan there have been at least 4 shootings, but more disturbing than that is the amount of potential. i was detained by police for a 'disturbance' and got a chance to just shoot the shit w/ the police and while i was detained they received a gun call in the neighborhoood. when i commented on the shooting the previous week the cops informed me the avg has gone up to a gun call a day. not a shooting but for example the call they had that day was a guy seen walking around on his back porch w/ a gun holstered in his belt. not toronto type numbers but you have to remember the size
east london is pooooooooooooooo
it was either last year or the year before, there was a robbery with guys with ak 47s. and cops were car chasing them or whatever and getting shot at. fukkked
