I saw him at Creamfields in the UK in 2004
Last December he played in Tokyo while I was there, but I didn't make it out there

I don't recall him ever playing in NYC. I don't think there's much of an audience here for his style or any other hardhouse DJ

His performances are amazing.. but I would agree that his music is a little bit too hard for here.

i agree his stuff is more on the hardstyle edge but still wud definitley draw a crowd ...to hear theme from banginglobe and hardstyle disco live would be a great experience

Yoji's style is unique and i am sure that any club in NYC would be packed..

He will draw a crowd, but it wont be big enough to fill the fat pockets that the clubs have. Also, hes not much of a guido attaction, so clubs would be against all that candy raving nonsense.

Speak for yourself, I am very HUGE fan of the hardstyle genre. Obviously our clubs don't cater to same, which is sad. I wouldn't mind stomping with my sticks and photons. My EDM days began as a candyboy, lmao. No homo of course. *Thinks back to Countdown 2K2 @ Key Arena with The Queen of Acid Trance - Spacegirl, Gabbercore Rob Gee, and Dj Keoki and Pleasurehead* .. damn i misssss those days. LOL

But I can picture the "rave" companies drawing a crowd for Yoji.. like Synergy Productions, Columns of Knowledge and the other various people who brought great raves parties to NYC. Who brought us BOO? I forgot.. the parties on Randall's Island?

Im watching his videos, I gotta say, hes definitely a great entertainer, and Im really digging this melodic hard trance/dance stuff.

BTW, thanks to this thread, I cant go to the gym now until Ive downloaded a mix by Yoji to workout to.

I love Yoji, he's in my top 10, easilyyyyy... His production skill is nothing short of amazing... And actually, you'd be surprised, he has a very big cult following here in New York... I've seen teen night (when I was doing them) message forums with 10 pages of kids talking about Yoji, and the average JP-fan lookalike with a Yoji tune on their Myspace or Yoji listed under musical preferences. However, his agent (who is Scot Project's agent) even said, his booking is astronomically high... dunno, I never felt like asking how astronomically high it was haha...

The more sets I listen to of this guy, the more Im liking it. Its not like hard noise, its actually got some rhythm and melody to it.

I imagine Yoji being the PvD/Armin of the Hard Trance/Dance scene.

As far as astronomically high, it might not be higher than the trance DJs, I think its high in relation to the genre he spins and the amount of people he can draw.

Well, it was when I was talking to Scot Project's agent about Scot Project, whose fee was already pretty high. I then brought up Yoji, and he said he was going to be honest, that it was really high, probably more than double, plus a lot of issues like flying in some of his equipment and excessive luggage and shit... I mean, look at the guy, god knows what he wears when he goes to bed haha... So yeah, if it's way higher than Scot Project who has a really big cult following here in NYC, then it's hiiiigh... but yeah, I wish I could see him here!!

btw, the downside to Yoji spinning in NYC is that he would most likely get booked at Webster Hall, which is one shithole Ill never go to.

if yoji was booked there i'd still 100% go.

i have spun at r major raves believe me .... hardstyle sucks my fucking cock ravers are all drug addicts and deserve to die the scene is dead...grow up and go to clubs and real events

Check this out dumbass, the club scene is dead, more so because of the guidos that know nothing about the music, get fucked up and roam a club with their 'chick radar' lookin for pussy.

The ravers are the part of the EDM scene that represents every bit of PLUR. Everyone there is there to appreciate the music and get fucked up. There is to stereotyping, no care about what youre wearing and what you look like.

this debate is been going on for awhile about hardstyle music. nyc just dont really support as much as west coast does. But you go overseas it very accepted and it's not about the drugs. Have seen yoji three times. And even went to his home country with some friends to see him. It was simply amazing , these guys weren't drugged up ravers that everyones says. most of them don't even do drugs. I spin some hardtsyle yoji being one of my idols next kai trancid. Would love and bring a lot of people with me if yoji came to nyc. Dont do party favors i'll spin sticks like a the old scholl clean ravers used to. sorry guys no away days i think plur is gone. And been gone for awhile but the music is still great.

Yoji doesnt really spin hardstyle anyway... Its just Hard Trance/Dance.

not tryin to offend n e 1 but just from the past 4 raves ive been to nothing but (and ne 1 that knos my taste in music knos i love everything)but its been horrible music non diverse 180 bpm noize ive also had alot of problems with djs and booking them on the rave scene ...mad shady so again sorry if i offended any body its just my own opinion

sick clip, in this genre Nick Sentience and BK are effin masters, not as entertaining as Yoji but better technical mixers.
