Too many promo threads??

More and more, the Montreal forum is flooded with promo threads with a poster a few promotional notes, with maybe one or two replies.

Valid discussion threads are pushed back and out of sight.

I think its time to regulate this and have promoters post in their own respective threads by month and have less clutter.

Circus, Redlite, Stereo, and others would have a monthly thread where they can post all of their stuff.

What do you guys think? Discuss.

If "valid discussion" threads are pushed back, its cause no one is posting in them.

Personally, I don't really care, but its much easier to see in one shot who's coming where/when instead of checking each club's thread, etc.

I just don't find it normal that wednesday night threads are now on the second page, and everyone knows that no one goes past the first page.

If a person hasn't visited ta in the last 48 hours, he would have missed some discussions that are now in the second page.

Put a cap in their ass Malek!

Maybe each club or after should have their proper thread for promotion ?

If they can change the thread title they can put their big artist name that is coming up next.

Puis ca risque d'tre plus claire, si t'as des questions le promo va l'voir et ca va rester dans lmme sujet =)

I think if the club promoter types followed the rules we wouldnt have this problem, the only promoter person that contributes apart from whoring their own events or praising their own club (I mean they do this also but on top of posting in unrelated threads) is Circus Admin, and Dishko, maybe one or two others, cant really think of who atm.

Meh..I'm indifferent.
No big deal if I miss a few threads...if there's something big, I'll hear about it. =)

I thought a sub-forum for Montreal: "events section" was supposed to be on the way... ?

Posted by 404 Science on Jun-08-2007 20:41:

If the discussion threads aren't pushed back so fast then there will be more discussion!

All promoters back to your cages...

That would be ideal, but I don't know if we're worthy enough

like the TOTA forum

lets do it

Posted by RoOmIE on Jun-08-2007 21:57:

too many promoters for the same event/club ...

there should be MAX 2 promoters per event/club

even then 1 is enough ...

Posted by Allied Nations on Jun-08-2007 22:07:

I think a separate promo thread forum with specific rules and guidelines like the toronto section would work for everyone...

I'll talk to swamper about it

Posted by Paulr on Jun-09-2007 00:48:

one thing for sure... rollcalls should be on the same thread as the event.

i guess i was wrong

Posted by B018 on Jun-09-2007 00:56:

divide the montreal section in:
events, pics, roll calls, music, party reviews
if it can be done

That's a few too many subforums. I think most of you forget that Montreal is a subforum here on TA... I know some of you cruise the other sections, but not very many, especially the people on the promotion side of things...

I like the idea of having subsections...

There's a lot of party threads.

Sections like...

1 for Clubs/Bars/Afterhours/Events
1 for Reviews
1 for Mixes,demos
1 for junk,jokes,general,poll,whatever else

Posted by Enjoy on Jun-09-2007 03:06:

Nah, wouldn't work. MTLTA is too small of a community.

agree 100%, for major club/event, and aload 1 thread for local, independant event!

Let's also have different sections for every day of the week, so that if someone comes in and wants to just read the posts from last monday, they can. Also each of the 7 sections will have their own versions of the events/promotion, jokes, reviews, mixes, random talking sub-sub-sub-sub forums.

I Like the way T.O TA works...all the event listings on top of the page under 1 Forum and it's dated properly too, so it's easy to find everything.

monthly club line-up pinned up as well.

and to reduced all the amount of promo listing, ONLY club promoters can put up event listing if they have rep on this board.
