Short Film - Epic Trance Composer Needed

Hello tranceaddict community! My name is Keith, a seventeen year-old video editor, and I'm currently working on a short film project that requires music to accompany it. I have music that would work, but unfortunately, I can't get it licensed without paying exorbitant prices, not to mention the people I contacted didn't bother responding to my requests. That being said, the job you have is fairly straightforward(for a composer, that is ). I have sample music that you can brainstorm off of, I have a vision in mind and I'll be able to give you a clear direction, you just have to use your experience and knowledge of the software to compose it up. You'll have access to the rough cuts up to this point, so you'll have a whole bunch of things to brainstorm from.

In summary, I need music that is:

1) Something like epic trance

2) Starts fairly slow with a kind of pulsing beat, and builds to a fast, driving climax(with definite points signalling tempo changes in between), and ends with a fast change to a slow tempo and thoughtful style.

If you're interested in giving it a shot, hit me with an email at: brinkster[at]gmail.com

Thanks!

Well, I just spent two days crawling the Internet for appropriate music(not to mention all the time spent earlier to find one I could get a basic edit from), and I tired of searching. I'm also runing out of time, I want to get this to the film festivals in September, and a customized composition is almost always superior to pre-recorded music.

depending on your needs, I totally agree. But if it's EDM, I think many companies would have been helpful, especially nowadays.

Don't get that you need to pay exuberant rights for some minutes of music, or I'm way too dumb then.

well if you need help, you know where to find me...

Perhaps I had terrible luck, because all the companies I contacted didn't answer me.

As well, the problem with licensing for film is that you're:

1) Showing it to a lot of people(hopefully ).

2) Changing the music to fit the film.

Not many labels will let you edit their music without charging you a lot for it.

Ok, I found a composer. Thank you for your interest!

My previous composer's schedule got filled up, so he's unable to do the job anymore. Anyone who's interested, send me a message!

What's the budget?

Posted by Icewolf on Jun-11-2007 18:20:

Money-wise, I don't have anything to give you until the middle of June, so you'll have to work on trust only. If you're not comfortable with that, I understand that, but don't apply then either . If you're still interested, I can give you $50. Not much, but that's how it has to be. Thanks for your interest!

I understand your dilemma. I run a music production company and charge 50 euro an hour, so I won't be applying

However, I think this might appeal to aspiring artists who want to get their music heard. Maybe you should tell more about the movie festival and whats it is about? Maybe if the promotion is good, someone here might help you out

PS. Camsr, no need to be rude to people, what kind of money did you have when you were 17?
