Digital Recorders to rip music

I used to have a stand alone CD burner that I could record in real time on to CD's from any analog or digital source. It worked great for my dj sets and those single MP3 sets I always download. But I also used it for ripping the audio from a movie (for samples) which was also easy to do. Nowadays, I can't find stand alone CD burners anymore. So, please help me: Is there a more efficient manner of recording or ripping WITHOUT the use of a computer?? Thanks!

iRiver H140 + Rockbox firmware. I can take in mic, line-in, & optical (S/PDIF) in. It can record to WAV, AIFF, WavPack, and MP3. The H140 pretty much can only be found on eBay due to it being discontinued. For a DAP/R, this device is one of the best sold on the consumer market. It's a shame this got discontinued. Rockbox made it infinitely better and I highly recommend it. I upgraded it to use a 60-GB HDD months ago and it works fine. I purchased mine for around 240 USD on 30 April 2006.
