man....last night was insane. sasha pounded it nonstop. too bad i had to leave an hour early

looks like the vanguard got some new toys huh?

I got so many texts last night saying how much fun it was and asking me to come at the last minute (since my plans got cancelled)... but I went to bed by 10pm.

I had a blast last night. As of last night Sasha became my #1 again!!! My body is aching so much right now, but it's well worth it. Thanks to everyone for making sure I had a good time, and extra special thanks to Karen & Miss G for being my partners in crime.

I think it was destiny that wanted me to go last night. I was so bummed out I missed him in San Diego Friday. Than last night when I showed up to my club, the promoters shut it down due to a carnival outside. I than sped my way to the Vanguard where I ran into Curly outside. He had an extra discount pass, and BAM! I got me my ticket!!!

It was like a reunion party for me. I saw so many faces I haven't seen in a long time. It was great seeing all of you. I finally got to meet the infamous Randy S. Nice meeting you bro.

SO HERE'S MY REVIEW....

THE BACK ROOM
I got there around 11:00pm, and I was surprised there wasn't a line except for the guestlist. Last time I saw Sasha at Avalon, the line was ridiculous. Anyhow, as soon as I got there, I heard that Bas & Clovis were going to play in the back room. I got excited about it, than I went to gather my troops so we can go see them. Honestly, you guys were freaking solid! That room was full with people when you guys were on. It won't surprise me if you guys play in the main room one day. I had more fun with you guys than I had with the people playing in the main room. Awesome job guys.

Than soon after, the TA Takeover was in full effect. Junior Chavez, Randy S, and a few other TA's got to play. You all did a great job.

SASHA
Holy fucken cow!!! I had lost all my faith in Sasha. Everyone that knows me good knows that Sasha was my favorite DJ since the 90's. I had never missed a Sasha show. I have seen & heard Sasha play everything from Trance, to old school techno, to house, to some weird shit. Than when his Fundacion residency began, it all went downhill. He was boring me to death. I wouldn't stay 'til he was done. It almost was like you had to be on something to be able to enjoy & trip out to his music. So I gave him another chance this past New Years... Same shit, Sasha was boring, and Digweed was banging it hard.

So finally, I got to see him again last night. And WOW. He was fucken amazing!!!! I was sober, well; I was drunk, but damn!!! Time went by so fast. I haven't danced so much in a long ass time. My body is soared from all the dancing. I jumped, I danced, I screamed, I smiled, I laughed. That was the Sasha I liked.

Sasha's last 30 minutes were insane. I want a copy of the recording if anyone has one! He had me jumping all over the place! I got to admit. Sasha has some huge balls for encoring with JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE's - SEXY BACK!!! Everyone went nuts when he dropped it. It was an awesome remix, but I was still tripping cuz I'm tired of that song. Hahaha

Another song that stood out for me a lot was one that sounded like BLONDIE's RAPTURE... If anyone knows the name, please let me know.

OVER ALL EXPERIENCE
Overall it was an amazing time. I�d do it all over again. Great seeing everyone, I won't list you guy�s cuz I know I'll miss some of you. Julia, you were missed. I really wanted to see you. Next time.

Damn Woody, from your detailed review & Drew's pics, I feel like I was there! I wanted to see you too!!! Glad you had fun though!

Oh well, I honestly need a break from clubs. I was also pretty bummed out that I had to cancel my flight to Canada, so I wasn't really in a social mood.

just wondering... did anyone know the track luke fair near the end of his set... it had vocoded vocals just repeating "hold me down control" ?

fuck i'm gonna slap myself for missing the last hour. i shoulda made my idiot friend stay....thats why its better to come alone. arrrrgghhhhh

...it was my first time at Vanguard and didn't realize that the festivities would end at 4AM - D'OH!... I got there around 3AM, so at least I got to catch the last hour!

Woody - that song is the Chemical Bros. song as noted above he layered with the JT vocal sample.

hey everyone, i am ta from miami, i haven't posted in a long time, i moved to california in Feb, i work at vanguard as a bouncer, but i quit last week because they have this policy that if you work there and want the night off, you can't come to the club, so i was like then fuck it i quit since am not missing sasha and paul van dyk. so anyways i got there, started dringking since it end at 2 am (bullshit ass Law), it was great really fucking great, what i experienced yesterday, i had needed it for a long time, i glad i quit and didn't miss it. plus it was all free, so that was good. here are the pics:

omg, it was so much fun playing with you guys in the back room. at the spur of the moment roman suggested i bring my tracks to vanguard... little did i know i would have the pleasure of playing next to randy, tyler, jessie, roman, bas, and clovis.

wow i recognized all of your faces in the backrooms when you guys were playing there. I still haven't had the luxury to meet many of the west coast TA's yet. I sure had a damn good time last nite

SO glad to have made the trip from dallas for sasha and to finally meet some of you -- it's been months in the making LEGENDARY first time to vanguard -- talk about raising the bar...

Yes the last thirty minutes were awesome, was nice to see Sasha in a club setting like this in LA. Have a hardcore hangover today, hooked up with an ex boyfriend last night but those are the parts of the night that I'd like to forget.

I love Sasha.
