Got Accepted at Sheffield Hallam

ok,
got my unconditional offer today along with a few others, and i ve got it down to Sheffield Hallam University in Yorkshire. Obviously, i ve heard the self praise they distribute on their websites and through agents and ex students, but just as a neutral outsider, if anyone knows anything about this university and its area specifically, it would be handy. i ve done all my research, and im not worried or anything, but even small things like cool places to go, or this/that is worth it/not worth it would be helpful.

its my Msc in Sports Management, and im THRILLED im finally doing what i love.

Sheffield is a safe and friendly city, if not a little grim. There's a vibrant nightlife that supports the students of 2 universities.

youll love it mate.

i have had 6 mates go to hallam or UoS, they all had a blast. spent many a weekend up there.

best clubs are :

kingdom (student drink as much as you can night)
leadmill (as above)
bed (nice little chilled club)

far too many bars to mention, but make sure you go to west street.

sucks for you that GC1 burnt down, even though it has been shit since the refurb in 02 (i think)

youll have a great time mate, everyone is in the same boat so dont worry about making friends n stuff.

Bed was knocked down over a year ago.
Kingdom has been refurbed but I have been living in Sheffield for 4 years and it has only ever been a student cheese-factory full of complete dicks and commercial bullshit music.
The Leadmill occasionally has good bands but it has no good dance music nights to speak of.

West Street is a student hell-hole full of pissed up wankers, avoid it like the plague Thursday - Saturday.
