DJ Mag vs. Mixmag

so i've been thinking of getting a subscription to one of them, but i'm having trouble deciding which. they're not exactly cheap, so i'm limiting myself to just one. both have their pros and cons, both give free cds. any advice?

or should i just go to borders, read the issue there, and buy it if i really like it? that's kind of what i've been doing so far, just too lazy/busy to do it on a regular basis.

They're both shit and you should continue to stick it to them both by reading their magazines for free!

I also like Remix, but it's definitely more production oriented than DJ or MixMag.

Try out XLR8R

I dunno, I like mixmag. I don't think I would've heard of Claude VonStroke had I not had my subscription.

BPM is terrible. If you actually read that now I feel pretty bad for you

BPM used to be one of the BEST dance music mags in the business, but ever sine Dave Ireland left and that twat joined on as editor in chief it's been all downhill.

a reason i want to get the subscription. i went to borders yesterday. there were only 3 mixmags left, all with the vonstroke cd missing. wft?!
of the 4 dj mags left, only one had the cd attached.

aoki was a huge party in chicago when he was here 6 months ago

My word! They've moved up

Let me give you some examples of BPM's shitty track record over the past year. Two years ago they had their anniversary party at The Mayan in downtown LA. The party was FREE, they were giving away FREE Converse shoes to the first 200 ppl that showed up. The talent? One of the writers for BPM, Kazell, and John Digweed. Last year they had their anniversary party at Avalon in Hollywood (fun but The Mayan rocks in every way shape and form). You had to rsvp to get on a $15 list, the line up was a bunch of randoms from the indie rock/electro rock scene and someone named Mickey Avalon I blame it all on the new editor.

Check out what i'm talking about here.

bas, get on AIM

Just got the newest Mixmag it's pretty good. Specially since you got a Claude Vonstroke CD. BUt def. when it comes to BPM i would say pass unless your into indie electro rock mash-ups. And Bas that Digweed show fucking rocked it.
