Anyone miss the good old BXR / Nucleuz era???
im not talking about when those shit head tidy boys/bk and other cheap uk hardhouse producers started to come out the woodwork. im talking about the days of mauro picotto and riccardo ferri.
tracks like 'Picotto - Lizard', 'Franchino - 999' 'ricky leroy - taureg' 'joy kitikonti - joyenergiser' and many others in this style.
i remeber thinking how amazing it was that there was a massive group of italian dj's who all worked in a team, making trax for one amazing label. the sound was so distinct and raw. there seams to be little that compares these days.
what you guys think?
bxr was gold, the old picotto formula trance. hard kick & bassline, cheesyish melody, it just worked. The saccoman/bismark/ricky le roy stuff was brill too.
Lizard was a brilliant track.
Nukleuz used to be one of my favs
started out with that style, so it'll always be special to me
just look at this fucking tracklist

one of my favourites. weird tracks in places but it works so well
I still get all my old bxr trakcs out for a mix now and again. A few stand outs.
Saccoman - the recall (picotto answer remix)
Cominotto - trouble
mauro picotto - awesome ep, metamorphose ep, like this like this (the techno mixes), underground/baguette,
Gabry fasano - ringmo/catapulta
ricky effe - rectifier
Lava - autumn
All gold - theres more tho I can't be bothered listing.
Franchino - 999 was pure edam.
It was brilliant. Along with Mario Piu - The Vision.

The Saccoman and Franchino type stuff definitely had its place in my playlist.
http://www.discogs.com/release/5148 FTW!! So many amazing memories from that bad boy. Boshing BXR at it's very best!
I miss bxr. However, your 'examples' aren't exactly very representative of why it was good.
I have quite a few of their records
I miss the BXR tech trance. it was pretty beefy, much more techno than most stuff around at the time but enough splashes of "tranceness" to keep it interesting.
Of course there was the cheesy tracks which were a bit poo, but there were some great releases on it, particularly saccoman - metamorph & revelation
Saccoman - Methamorph (Part Two Mix)
Hepba - Daquarariezz
Utter Anthems.

I was more in the German "Epic" hardtrance, but I also liked Picotto and the BXR stuff they were producing at that time. Unfortunately no one that I know is producing staff like that in this moment.
Mauro Picotto - Bangkok
Just superb
Hi guys,
I've just been signed as the Head of Nukleuz Green, to handle the production, promotion and some A&R duties.
I pretty much grew up with the old Nukleuz releases mentioned above. Basically, my aim is to bring back the epic sound of trance to the label, and to bring good, uplifting and memorable tracks to the stable, isnteado of just focusing on what's the "in" and "cool" sound of the moment.
Apart of tracks from myself, you can also look forward to releases and remixes from the likes of Ian Betts, Adam White, Lee Haslam, Michael Dow, TFT anf North Star among others.
We've just done an album called Trance Sessions Solstice which you guys might like and the Trance Sessions Solstice sampler vinyl contains new remixes of CRW - I Feel Love, Mario Piu - The Vision and Mauro Picotto's remix of PPD - Enjoy The Silence.
Mauro's been re-signed so keep your eyes open for his new work !
The newest single out now is Pierre Pienaar - Daybreak, which deatures the Original Mix, and a remix from North Star. DJ support has been coming from the likes of Ian Betts, Simon Eve, Tom Colontonio, Dave Joy and Adam White.
I'll be interested to know what you guys think of the new material, and if you have any suggestions then feel free to let me know

Artists like these guys are the reason why trance (and in turn Nukleuz) has became so shit.
Yay, remakes of old tracks. Everyone likes those!
