Wow I am actually getting to like this thing, It would fit perfectly with my Vestax mixer.

Posted by DiscoStew on Jun-16-2007 15:12:

eh, good price, but not impressed overall. Vestax mixers are top-notch, but this product seems to be on the lower end for CD decks.

Posted by leph555 on Jun-16-2007 15:15:

Well I think its perfect for a beginning Dj.

seems solid to me

its under $299 on djdeals whch is rpetty good, and im sure it canbe found chepaer

has anyone tried playing with one?

stan, I got my CDX-05s off of DJDeals a little over a year ago (last March). I think they were the same price or a little more, great deal though. Some people have had problems there but I didn't have any trouble, got a Vestax VMC-004 mixer there too.

CDXs are really good for beginner decks, pitch bend buttons help with learning to beatmatch. The only thing is the pitch increment is +/- 0.1 and it can be hard to smoothly mix particular tracks. This doesn't happen to me too often but when it does I have to really ride the pitch. I wish they had more accurate pitch control but for entry-level decks, they're solid. Scratch capability and effects are pretty cool too if you're into that.

He sounds like Alan Titchmarsh.

Posted by stan229 on Jun-19-2007 11:10:

hm.. if they're .1 increment
maybe id be better off with pio cdj-100s, which are lower in price also .1 but have less features (no looping,no sampler)

Can you please post a pic of your setup, because im wondering what they look like with a Vestax vmc-004 since its the same mixer that i have.

i haven't looked, but what's the price difference between the vestax and the cdj 200's? if it isn't anything drastic that's a solid piece right there. and it has looping and some effects as well.

Posted by leph555 on Jun-19-2007 20:08:

Well you can get cdj 200's from agiprodj for about 350$ shipped, so its a 50$ price difference.

I'll admit, they look rather solid (as in better than the Stantons, Numarks, Geminis, Technics, and even Denons), but for roughly the same price I'd go for the Pioneers any day. I've futzed around on a fair amount of cdjs and none of them compare to Pioneer.

SEXAY!!!!

Posted by camshaft on Jun-19-2007 22:51:

haha, thanks, I think they look good together...what decks do you have right now?

Posted by leph555 on Jun-19-2007 22:56:

well right now i have no decks

Posted by Liquid Fusion on Jun-19-2007 23:45:

Im a little confused, so are they more expensive or less expensive than the CDJ 200's? And I was wondering if any of you know the track he is playing?

Posted by Inertia on Jun-19-2007 23:48:

how's the VMC004 worked out for you? are the fader curves smooth?

i'm thinking about picking one up.

Posted by leph555 on Jun-19-2007 23:56:

the CDX is cheaper than the cdj 200 by 50$.
Im loving the Vestax VMC-004, its the best that you can get for the price!

Posted by camshaft on Jun-20-2007 10:12:

Yeah, the VMC-004 is awesome, I don't think I'll upgrade my mixer for quite some time. You can set the crossfader curves to either smooth/gradual (for mixing and blending) or to sharp for cutting/hip hop style mixing; the channel faders are pretty smooth. The EQs are the best part though - full kills on each band, and there's LED indicators on each band too, which is nice. I'm a big fan. I got mine on djdeals for $300, I think.

Posted by Liquid Fusion on Jun-22-2007 23:24:

does anyone know the track that is playing?
