Wired 2007
The Athens Electronic Music Festival
Dash Productions is proud to present Wired, The Athens Electronic Music Festival, 2007. This annual event showcases some of the finest DJs in the state at a twelve-hour event, the electronic music exhibition of the AthFest Summer Music and Arts Festival. Wired has been Athens premiere electronic music event, attracting crowds from all over the state. This year, we celebrate our fifth Wired by expanding into two brand new venues within blocks of the AthFest main stage. With over forty artists on four stages, representing house, trance, break beat, hip-hop, drum and bass, down tempo, and dub step, this is the premier event to enjoy all types of dance music under the sun and the stars. From chill atmospheres to dance-floor-ripping beats, there will be a tempo for every mood.
This unique experience will take place at Detour, a new spacious warehouse-style dance club with a large deck outside, and at Little Kings, an intimate club less than a block away, with a large outdoor patio and plenty of sofas inside to enjoy the vibes. There will be tents for the outdoor stages in case of rain and for some daytime shade.
Come out early and enjoy the chill beats on the two patios as some of your local favorites pull out special Dub Step and down tempo sets.
For your entertainment, we will host a Spades Tournament, graffiti art, as well as various indoor video game systems, while you enjoy the festivities.
As always, there will be re-entry throughout the event, so you can go and enjoy the Athens Music and Arts festivities downtown, catch one of the hundreds of bands performing in town, or eat at one of the many local restaurants. Food will also be available at the event by Gumbys Pizza.

| Originally posted by exposureshow lol - I guess technically I am still not playing downtempo or dubstep, however I am playing a very deep/chill/dubby-style house/minimal set. Originally there were only slots left open for downtempo, so I sent the promoters a mix of some chiller minimal stuff. They liked it and said I can play in that style and it would fit. |
... I figure people would be coming elsewhere in the state, cause of my three years of living in Athens, the only dancing I ever saw was some drunk sorority bitch getting dragged off a table at Firehouse screaming the lyrics of sweet home alabama.
I don't miss that town much.

I have to work
NEXT YEAR!
Actually You didnte miss much ohnestly. I got there around 10:00 P.m and there wasnte but like 50 or 60 people at either place "Club Detour or the other one". I was thinking that maybe it would start jumping of say around 11 or so but 11:30 rolled around there was still apsolutely no change the same people with a couple here and there coming in every once in a while. The music was alright i recognised a couple songs but mostly unknown. The sound quality sucked and the lights were no better. Most of the people working the bar were a$$holes but thats not uncommon. I ended up leaving at like 12 or so. Im not planning on going back to either club again "inless Ferry or Arman Van Buren open but thats not going to happen" So anyway lesten learned Pce

I figure Athens would be a bad place to host such an event. The college kids want rock or hip hop, and the townies want their weird indie shit. There wasn't ever anything going on up there after they shut down this tiny little gay club called Bone Shakers. It had great music... but it is no more
