Business Curiosity - Houston DJs

So, i was just kind of wondering...how in the world are so many big names coming weekend after weekend to Houston?
I mean, i've been here a while and i've just never seen so many come. And they're all playing at bar rio, which i observe is relatively new. But with the crowds that are showing up at these things, it doesn't seem like it would be profitable or sustainable to continue doing this...

Don't get me wrong, i absolutely LOVE it that there's been an event practically every weekend since i've come back for good, but i'm worried it might be short-lived...

Just as it is in Dallas, promoting shows is a long term investment. You may lose your ass on two shows and then make a huge profit on one show. Over the course of time, most promoters will see a profit. Houston, I think, has a good enough EDM seen to sustain the rate of talent currently coming in. Plus, you would be surprised how cheap some DJ's actually are in terms of payment.

oh yea; i've known sean's been the biggest organizer of stuff, but i guess i was just wondering why it seems everything is localized to bar rio now...and how the money is being made to sustain it (doesn't seem like it would last...)
