Paul van Dyk @ Space 6-16-07 review

I told myself I wasn't gonna do this, but here it is anyway.


I usually hate it when I'm wrong.



This is not one of those cases.


Tonight my former #1 DJ played a massive Bi-polar OPPOSITE set of the crap which made me detest him so much last year.


No ladies and gents. This was no Spirits. This was no Space @ WMC. None of that bullshit.

Going in and coming out 100% sober, Paul van Dyk delivered what was easily one of the best sets I've heard in a long time. Except for 3 crap songs (which I will not ID) everything else was perfect. Included...

Nothing but you (????? remix?) <- WTF WAS THIS. It was absolutely SICK. I love the original club mix but THIS one. Holy crap is this one GOOD.

Paul's last encores....er, not saying what one of them was. The last one was a OMGWTFEMO song that literally cleared out the room.


Had a great time...saw virtually everyone there tonight.

OH man what a set!!!! Paul van Dyk came on early and blew my mind, he played some crazy remixes like DA said, and it was banging all night long!!!!!
it was great seeing everybody!!

I gotta say hearing Depeche Mode - Personal Jesus right when I'm about to step foot out of Space I had to go back .. :-) ( I think that was the second encore guys, it was right after The Verve track ) More later, I had a very mixed night.. was it worth the price?? Mmmmm stay tuned lol

just wondering, how long did he play for?

i saw him on friday night where he played for 4 hours and i agree w/ everyone here... same situation... one of the best sets, if not, the best set i've ever heard live in my entire life... and i was definitely NOT expecting that...

the world's #1 actually backed up his ranking

get on with the tl peeps, 3 songs isnt cutting it


and dark, spill the beans on what encore track you hated, i just want to knwo what he is playing as of now

Rough estimate, about 3, 3 1/2 hours.

And you're def. right. I was still in a hater mood last night, and when PVD came on I literally yelled, "You're #1? FUCKIN' PROVE IT!"

He def. did just that.

Oh dude. Me and everyone else had trouble IDing tracks. It was just like the November '05 show which was another one of the best shows ever. I know that he played another mix of Life Less Ordinary.

And just now, I was chatting it up with another PVD fan, and it looks like we have an ID on the remix of For An Angel. It looks to be the Hybrid remix. More than likely correct as this mix had serious breaks to it. It was incredible.

Here's a hint to one of the encore songs: it's a song he's been using as an encore a lot lately.

Last night he was def. having a great time in the booth. So much emotion, energy.

Well, one of them was def. Anthem as Coastie said below. The other song I hated wasn't an encore and I def. ain't saying what it is...except....

Yep. Compared to the OMGWTFEMO track, Anthem was pretty tolerable. Damon kept yelling "WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS SHIT!?" And I kept screaming, "EMOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!"
