What has caught me are the excellent tracklists! I am downloading the files now, but stupid megaupload is taking forever...
I hope it rocks!
Since we have a similar taste in trance, check mine out if you have the time: http://www.tranceaddict.com/forums/...1&forumid=73&s=
Thanx!
Wow, I think both sets really rock. I am getting more into the electro style of trance, I think it is awesome. But I must say, I still love the uplifting epic stuff. And, your tracklist is spot on.
Your mixing style is good and your transitions are pushed more to the ends of previous tracks and beginnings of upcoming tracks, a more traditional approach to mixing. I personally try not to do this anymore because it slows the mix down. When I mix, I have high energy tracks, so delaying the transitions a lot really breaks the mood from track to track.
In addition, some of your tracks sound all fudged up. They sound like you were mixing with mp3 software or some inexpensive cd decks. I feel that if you were on vinyl, you would have a much more professional sounding mix. I personally mix with mp3, but I use Atomix mp3 and CoolEdit to get the best sounding mix possible. In other words, I use CE to equalize all bpm's (usually to 138) then I use Atomix to mix it.
With this said, I think your taste in epic trance is great and I appreciate the electro mix because it sounds great and its rare! I hope my comments help.
Thanx!

thanks for the comments guys...
hmm maybe it's tech-trance, i always found the tech-trance mixes i listened to seeming to sound 'minimal' to my ears. the humming electronic synth was pretty much in every song so that's why i labelled it electro-trance. yeah i use mixmeister, it's not the best but ive used it for years and it's easy as heck.
my mixing style has changed through the years but i really like to hear as much of every song as possible. usually i mix the very beginnings or the ends of songs, not so much in the middle or near breakdowns.
ive got a pretty good musical ear for hearing keys, and mixmeister also does a great job of displaying what key each song is in. i try to either keep transitions between songs in a key, or up two half steps, or up a 5th.
i'm planning on buying some cd-decks soon, then maybe my mixes will have a more personalized style and touch.
again thanks for the comments -- foil, i'm gonna listen to your set tonight, promise!

EDIT:
these mixes have some very noticable changes in tempo. usually i try to stick to one tempo all the way through but i tried this to see what i thought. i wasn't completely happy -- it was the only way to drop songs with 126 or 124bpm in with the other songs. i'll just hope that when i get cd decks all the tracks i want to play have the same tempo! (yah right)
My last mix started out in Mixmeister, but that program was getting on my damn nerves. It just wasn't compatible with my mixing style. However, it sounds like you are working really well with it.
