[MEL] Shooting on William Street

There has just been a shooting on William Street in the City.

3 Shot and one of them dead.

EVERYONE BE SAFE if you work in the city.

phewph im on the other side of the city, heard about this on the train in this morning

a friend saw the body being covered, gunmen still on the loose.

nando's king street is now out of the question for lunch.

yeah i work round the corner from there.. theyve closed off collins street

A witness has said the woman was sitting in a taxi when the gunman grabbed her by the throat and tried to get in. "The lady got away and he turned and shot three people basically point blank," the witness said.

Police have said it appears the two men knew the woman and the gunman. "There is no suggestion this is a random act - it appears there was a relation with the gunman and the victims," Inspector Glenn Weir said.

i also work around the cnr, we were instructed not to leave our building as the gunman ran into the rialto building, he has apparently been caught now.

couple of friends work in the rialto building and said they got in 5 mins before it happened... lucky!

needless to say he has spent the morning working in a cupboard

its very sad indeed..

feel sorry for all the families involved.

woah, this' pretty crazy: just read the article on the age-- I think the city's still locked down in some way... Lucky emergency services are trained for shit like this, even tho it's not very common in Aus-- i hope they catch the guy...

After living in Toronto, Vancouver, Manhattan and parts of Europe, I kind of forgot how BIG A DEAL a city shooting was here. In Toronto there were shootings everyday. Melbourne is hands down the safest city in so many aspects, yet people start freaking out about where they are gana have lunch. God forbid anyone here goes OS - take ur defibrillator.

ok walter here are my insecurities:

i am worried that if i dont like mike nichol enough none of my friends will speak to me.

i worry that if i dont suck up to everyone on here and say how everything is the greatest that i will never be allowed into the inner sanctum of the scene.

i am really concerned that my ass kissing skills are not up to speed. do you have any advice for me?

another insecurity is that i fear that i am not really the king of the world but only the jester.

i have others but it might take awhile to list them all.
