[suggestions] wireless keyboard

hi kids,

my new gaming setup is currently in the works (she's gonna be seriously cool! pics coming next month...) and i need some suggestions for a reliable and accurate wireless keyboard suitable for gaming. price isnt really a concern, i would much prefer to shell out the extra $$ and get something awesome, rather than some POS that will drop out regularly.

any ideas??

I've got oneof these:

http://www.amazon.com/Microsoft-Opt...82129607&sr=1-4

works pretty well, as long as I don't let the batteries go down forever. Then it suddenly starts tttttttttttttttttpigggggggggggggg leeeeeeeeee thsssssssssssssss, but it's sudden, and obvious. Other than that, I approve.

cheers. whats the battery life? and it works fine unless batteries are low? i dont mind replacing/charging batteries all the time, as long as it works perfectly when all juiced up...

yeah, as long as the batteries are fine, no problems. I'd say they last at least a few weeks, and I use it a LOT.

ill take your advice on board. thanks!

np...now that I think about it, though, idk how you want to use it, but I wouldn't say it's got the most amazing range in the world.

yeah, range wont be much of an issue. probably less than 10 feet. i just want something so when i press "go forward" i move forward, or "build tier 1 point defence here" it doesnt hang for moments before my little engineer does its job.

well, as long as you don't have a bunch of stuff in the way, you should be fine. The batteries tend to matter more when you get farther away.

I didn't think that gaming consoles were that good with a keyboard and mouse. I think you should just stick with your game pad, you can't really play that well anyway so it would all be a waste of money. How is the atari (game rig) going????

l.o.l.

I'm a console kid, born & raised, but even I know that a keyboard & mouse will rape a controller any day of the week.

*leaves to play some halo 2*

This is the wireless keyboard I use and it works great. The keys are very responsive and the connection never runs out. The keyboard has yet to need new batteries and I have been heavily using it for months. It has great customizable keys and photo options, plus it comes with some basic photo editing software in case you don't have any and want something basic.

For gamin I still use the logitech gaming mouse I have instead of the wireless mouse that come with this combo, but the mouse is excellent for everything else and has a really nice battery life as well. Only once have I replaced the batteries. I replaced the crappy Raovac with some nice duracell power pix batteries and the life should be quite a bit longer this time.

whatever you do, don't get a microsoft wireless keyboard. My control key sticks. My friend has the same one, and it has the same problem.

SO annoying!
