Sasha & Digweed - World Review
I got to World just past midnight and to my surprise, the wait on line only took me 5 minutes. Jimmy Van M was mixing at the time and dropped one of the hottest tracks I heard throughout the night as his last track. It just sounded like some kind of evil roar from satan throbbing throughout the song. John Digweed hit the decks next and the place lit up. Digweed was throwing down hard, deep, dark and nasty beats all night long. He and Sasha were tag-teaming the whole time and Sasha was doing his looney dance when he wasnt mixing. World was packed to its max, there were lines for lines. There were sooooo many people in attendence but they all appeared to be having a good time. I found a spot by one of the pillars to just hung out there for a few hours and enjoyed the magic. The sound system was V-DOSC which is a backup system but it had really good output. The visuals were amazing. It was definitely a memorable night. Sasha & Digweed stopped playing at about 5:30, and the crowd went nuts. So they came back on to play one more tune..ended the night with some breakbeat track. I got these tracks down, in no real order...
Kelli Ali - Kids
LowEnd Specialists - Smoked Piece
The Path - Prayin (Children of the House)
Tone Depth - Rumblefish
Shmuel Flash - Chilling Moments
Solid Sessions - Janeiro (James Holden Remix)
Yunus Lullaby
Yunus - Red Pilot
Adam Dived Headfirst
Main Element - Take Me Down
Deceptions - Eastern Promises
wow, i do not know any of those..
How was Sasha's style??? damn i havent heard them in sooo long, im so pissed i couldnt go.. glad u had a good time tho, Sasha's like the best progressive dj in the freakin world(IMO) but was it more housey or trancey? and did the World change at all? im pretty sure the crowd was great.. S&D always bring in good crowd\vibe.. =)
Hmmm, it looks like not that many people went?
Sasha started off with one of his new breakbeat tracks. I didnt even notice him coming on to spin cause at the time until I glanced at the stage. He played alot of hard progressive tracks. Buildups after buildups with drops after drops. Sasha was scratching some track later on in the night and the crowd went nuts. If you want to know exactly what style they played at World, just download their latest Essential Mix.
I didnt notice any kind of turn-out from the Tranceaddict or EzDreamer boards. I went solo thinking I would bump into people I knew but it didnt turn out that way. I would have gone no matter what.
And just a side note, Jimmy Van M is gonna be one of the biggest DJ's in the world one day. The few moments I was there to hear the end of his set, I was really diggin it.
Why did they use a backup sound system?

At 4:30, Sasha was coming on for Digweed and dropped a track that goes....
"When you come here, see my shoes are shined..right"
"And you love and you and say and...pray"
"You'll be understood in some other work in vein"??
"When the house is built"
"When the straight is made"
"When the moon turns...theres another day"
"All the love is right"
"Through the secret doors"
And then what sounds like "Ohhh Mariaaaa" is vaguely repeated throughtout the rest of the song. Anyone know this track? I must find out the name lol. It was the highlight of my night when they played it.
That is a LOT of $$$$ and travelling expenses if u were to ask me..

| Originally posted by Phazon This is true. The backup system was still better then World's regular system. You gotta look at it this way, they're travelling to different cities all over the states and spinning at clubs that may have poor sound systems. So they needed some kind of power whether its Phazon or V-Dosc. |

Those new tracks were posted by some expert from the GU board. There are many different remixes out there for Better Off Alone but I didnt hear the one we've all heard on KTU or anything that comes close to it at World on Saturday night.
In an Interview with Jimmy Van M, he stated that there will be a Delta Heavy Tour in 2003. JVM was actually the guy who came up with the whole idea.
Essential Mix from Miami?
I recently caught Sasha and Digweed at their Delta Heavy Tour in Chicago this past weekend. I dont know if they used the Phazon system or not, but the bone crushing bass was THE BOMB!
You had mentioned that you could download the Essential Mix of them from Miami. Where do you suggest looking for this? I would love it.
I have never seen S+D live until a few days ago and now if they EVERY come near the midwest I am there! I hope the blip about a Delta Heavy Tour 2003 is true. I think some people maybe a little disappointed since most of the tracks were really dark/tribal progressive house. I think perhaps they were sticking to their theme with the visuals.
You could get their latest Essential Mix on Audiogalaxy. Just type in Sasha & Digweed - Delta Heavy and you should get some results.
