Cd Player

Until now i had used Atomix Mp3 to play some sounds on marrieds but now i am looking to buy 2 cd players and later a mixer effect.
I am saving money to this and i had saw Gemini CDM 500 that wasnt to much expensive to me.
What is your opinion about Gemini CDM 500 to a newbie dj, its good? I had like it because it just costs 300 euros and its a dual cd player with bpm adjustment, it has got loop options, etc. I know that singler cd player will be better, but this price... I dont need the mixer because i already use one to micro and pc, so if you know other around this price, better than this (dont need to have mixer) tell me please.
I will wait for you opinion, and sorry by my english, i am portuguese!
Thanks

It's not worth your money to buy shit equipment. You'll regret it.
Save your money for used cdj-100s.
You'll thank me later

denon makes good dual cd players from what ive heard

I will wait some time more and save more money to buy a single player. When i have that money i will buy some thing better (like cdj 100).
Thanks for advice, that is why i ask first!

I'd save even longer and go for a CDJ-200.

You can always use software and practice beatmatching with the CDJ that you have. I did this for a while until I got my 2nd one.

Good luck saving up! =)

I'll agree to that, but CDJ 200s are the way to go I think, though if you really cant wait 100s are going really cheap because they are no longer being produced (this also means their resale value is crap though). If you can save up for the 200s I think it would be better also, if your going to get 200s new, for about the same price I think Dennon make a unit that has scratch capabilities so if your after that it might be worth looking into but my preference is the Pioneer units. are you going for table top individual units or dual CD players?

I will be honest: i had never used a cd player so i dont know what is better to me... i had talk in first place of dual cd players because the price but maybe i will save more money to buy something good.

I really have NO CLUE of what the guy above just said, but it seems right.

edit : save money for CDJ-200. And Denon does great stuff also

He writes in Portuguese (brazilian), the translation is:
"They have reason dude, the price can be good but it does not compensate, i dont have the equipment and i have the same age that you have. You should save your money and buy something better than cdj 100, trust me."

200s are better if you can afford them, but like the op mentioned money is tight so the 100s is still my recommendation. Buying used on ebay and selling them back, I doubt you'll lose any money at all. If you want to test out djing on cdjs then 100s would be a good bet.

How much you think that 100s used its?
Thanks

don't know..
Try Ebay and on the left hand column click on "completed auctions". You will be able to see how much they're selling for.

i had the same problem you do.
i started out on traktor, and im like ooooooh this is fun, so i moved 'up' to CD players... i got 2 gemsound 525s and they SUCKED
SUCK SUCK SUCK SUCK
and it completely threw off my saving process.
SO, for the amount of money your talkin about, buy Ableton, an MAudio MIDI controller, and your off to the races

I really apreciate your help, thanks to all of you i had choise the best option: i will save money until september and then, i will take a decision. Until there, i use Atomix and Mixmeister to win some money.
I hope that in September i comeback to this topic and say "Now, what should i buy?" =)
Thanks you all and please, wich luck to the kid!
=)
