PVD was wank and Judge Jules was top!!!

Right just got back from an all nigther, so i havent slept to i apologise for sloppy evertything.

Last night we were expecting a huge set from PVD at Gatecrasher at the NEC, in the main arena.

He got underway and played a set that had no flow, or direction. He seemed to just throw any track in. And when it came to beatmatching, i thought he was learning or sommit, it was awful. And this isnt just me thinking this, most the the UKTA's could back me up.

He dropped a few huge tunes, and we were lovin them, but otherwise it was a really dissapointment. I was expecting a lot more from this man, a real shame

Anyway on too the main part of this thread.

Who hates Judge Jules. Yeah woteva. Anyway he took over from taul paul who played a pritty good set. First tune was a stormer, and then he dropped Dumonde - can u dig it. Blew the roof off the place. The arena filled up, and everyone was lovin his set. His mixing was pritty much spot on. Track selection was on the whole amazing, although he did seem to go a bit off in the last 15 or so mins of the set.

I would have said that the jules set was one of the best sets of the night.

Unfortunatly there was one slightly better, and we expected nothing less from this man. DJ Scot Project played a stormer of a set and had us stomping our feet until 6am. He dropped some really hard stuff, the usual scotty stuff.

This was the best set of the night.

Overall it was a top night, and i cant wait for the next event

p.s Hello to all the people i met from the dutch TA's and the UKTA's all totally sound

Fly!

Total absurdity.

You must have been in the wrong Arena - PvD kicked as usual and Judge was a complete load of tosh....... as usual.

End of story, conversation closed.

LOL! Well everyone has his own taste
Dj Scot Project often plays mad sets!

Where you there?

Coz you must have missed the totally loss of beatmatching, or maybe you just had ear plugs in.

Smoking ..umm..something

We heard about 45 minutes of his set and it was awesome!

Flystyler, we've already established that you are in fact Judge Jules, so you're bound to be biased

Az was with me when we were stomping away to jules, and he can prove that he is only infact my step brother

Ahh well i await the large amount of lame posts with no backing up of why the flame me. Coz they werent there, lol. I was

I dont think that a post saying, pvd is god, jules is a twat proves anything apart from the lameness of the poster

Posted by Raptor on Apr-14-2002 14:16:

well didn't get to hear jules.... but MAURO SPUN a whicked set though from what i heard of it on the radio.

Posted by Jarvmeister on Apr-14-2002 14:17:

Flystyler,

there is a simple explanation as to why u thought the beatmatching was off, you were stood in one of the many areas where poor acoustics were more prevelant than the fantastic tunage.

We were right in front of the bass bins at the front. My ears are still ringing.

PvD ruled.

im sure the tracklists will prove who came out on top.. sure mixing is a major. but without track selection u have no direction..

Smoking ..umm..something

Well we heard the first 45 minutes of PVD's set and it was incredible.

I find it hard to believe he conveniently became shit as the radio stopped broadcasting him.

By the way, if anyone's interested we compiled a list of Tiesto's set, from what we heard on the radio. Well, I say "we", I didn't actually do anything.

I heard part of picotto, but he wasnt playin what i thought he would b, techno then going into hard trance, so went and watched jules.

Oh and i wasnt stood in a bad area, right underneath the left speakers, so i could hear the crap mixing, oh and acoustics were crap in areas, but i can hear a crap mix when it comes a long, i have a trained ear

Posted by evil_bastard on Apr-14-2002 14:38:

Smoking ..umm..something

Your ear obviously isn't that trained if you're a Jules addict

Stood in the same area all night, Hardwick didn't double beat, PvD did pretty much every other track for over an hour, Picotto didn't, and Scot Project CERTAINLY didn't
and yes Jules played a blinder

flyster, let me give you some backing, i heard jules here in texas live last weekend and i was thourghly impressed. the guy was awsome. great mixing and awsome crowd interaction. he totally doesnt deserve much of the crap i've heard in this forum.

glad you had a great time at NEC

The first 45 minutes that PvD got broadcasted were great, with PERFECT mixing constantly, playing hard, dark tunes. I dont think that he just suddenly started playing shitty.

Mauro was prolly the second best set of the night (that got broadcasted). The first 5-6 tunes were awesome, especially that little south park number, that was hilarious (and the crowd was roaring ). Later on his tunes stayed too techno for my tastes, I really wish he would play more tech trancy tunes like BTC. But it still rocked

Posted by Thierry on Apr-14-2002 16:32:

I'm a big Jules fan (great trax) but I never heard his set on the radio so I wouldn't know how his set was... but like a lot of ppl said, PVD rocked it on the airwaves last night for 45 min straight. Too bad we didn't get the rest.

Posted by flystyler on Apr-14-2002 16:53:
