Angry Freedom of speech/expression and TranceAddict

WHAT THE F*CK, TA????????????

Since when censorship of political views became norm around here?

First, my "political" sig was removed - it was anti-war.

Second, my location was changed because it said "Fascist Corporate Wasteland"

and finally..........

My avatar was replaced with a gorilla??????? Why? Because I had Shtirlitz pictar! Do you even know who Shtirlitz is?

Here, read: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shtirlitz

I can't believe TA mods would turn this place into Stalin-like GULAG!

Seriously, WTF?????!!!!!!

Posted by DarkAngel on Jun-20-2007 21:47:

Oh this is really gonna get pretty.

Posted by RJT on Jun-20-2007 21:47:

I'm pretty sure Canada doesn't have freedom of speech, so your quarrel is null & void.

Posted by idoru on Jun-20-2007 21:48:

I'm not going to go on a whole spiel here, suffice it to say there are some things you pointed out that I agree with, and some I don't.

would be funny if this gets locked

Srsly. No one cares what anyone else thinks here so why bother editing them unless they affect performance or violate NSFW rules.

Re: Freedom of speech/expression and TranceAddict

i didn't suspend your sig or alter it, but this is a forum, not a country, and if it was, it's a dictatorship and as in most dictatorships, there is no such thing as free speech.

This is not a democracy. The freedoms gauranteed to you in the Constitution are not gauranteed to you on this website. Now stop crying.

Del and I had a small discussion about this in PM a while back when my signature was deleted for various reasons, most of which was, "Well, your signature says to not support Love Parade Berlin, and because we're trying to get a float on it that makes your signature seem 'Anti-TA.'"

Also, this was something he pointed out to me in PM in the same conversation...

quote:
Although, it would also coincide with the 'no political/religious' sig content stuff. Sigs aren't meant to be a platform to stir up drama (that rule eventually had to be put in when everyone was making fun of ppl in their sig and my PM box would fill up).

Suffice it to say, I don't ever recall this being a democracy so suck it up and deal with it, buddy.

Best response to this kind of issue yet.

Does anyone else find it funny that the most inconsequential people who irregularly frequent this forum are the ones who complain the most?

See, my Polish brutha here knows what's he's talkin' bout. They've been subjected to that show too!

From wiki:
Stirlitz was regarded as the ideal KGB agent. Born in Russian heartland (a town of Gorokhovets mistakenly placed "on the Volga river" in the feature), he was a renaissance man who knew how to complete missions but was also familiar with high culture. He spoke all European languages except Irish and Albanian. He favored the intellectual approach over violence and is believed to have killed only one time in his fifty year career as an agent. Like James Bond, he had a favorite drink, cognac. He drove a Horch car and was not as taken by women as Bond, declining the offer of some supposedly attractive prostitutes with the rejoinder "I'd rather drink some coffee." During his constant travels, Stirlitz missed Russia and longed to return.
--------

and here's one of those jokes Stren told u about :

Shtirlitz went into Mueller`s office and found that no one was around. He walked up to the safe and pulled on the handle, only to find that it wouldn't open. After making sure that he was alone, he took out his gun and blasted away; still, the safe wouldn't open. Next, he put a hand grenade under the safe and removed the pin. After the smoke had cleared, Shtirlitz once again tried to open the safe. Again, however, he was unsuccessful.
"Hmmm..." the experienced intelligence officer at last concluded, "must be locked."

Perhaps joining an appropriate activist board would make your views into action, rather than just expression.

If you know if your expressions will cause offense to anyone, don't be an ass and show them off, that just makes you an ass. Of course you would know that too, so you prolly just want to be an ass. SO if that's the case, suck it up.

I always have a laugh when people try to use the first ammendment on an internet forum based in a country that isn't the U.S.

GO TEAM AMERICA! YAY! ALL YOU OTHER ******S BETTER LIVE BY OUR RULES OR I'LL KILL YOUR PUPPIES!

1.) EMC, in response to your signature, the internet is not protected by any national constitution. It's an incredibly free world, and what your country may say in its first amendment does not hold true in this place of the internet. Swamper has the right to do literally whatever the fuck he chooses. If you don't like it, put up or shutup.

2.) The only obvious solution here is to get an internet petition started! (Only the MD-goers will chuckle)

Edit:

3.) With the way you're going, I see a suspension in your future.
