Posted by Renegade on Apr-16-2002 16:24:

Which is the version they're playing on Nova these days? The Luna Park one or a remix of the PPK one?

Posted by zoy on Apr-17-2002 03:00:

they play the ppk one on nova

Not a real fan of either tune really, not really ma style.

Did like PPK for awhile, but i agree once it became a
'commercial' tune - i got sick of it.
As usual the radio stations get hold of somethin and then
beat the crap out of it. Very few tunes can last when
they are beaten to death.

Personally Rank 1 - Airwave can be played and played and
i wouldnt get sick of it, but thankfully (in some ways)
it didnt become a 'commercial' tune.

my 2 cents
Bring on PvD

Cheers

yah too overplayed

Posted by innominate on Apr-24-2002 10:58:

the ppk one i first got from a random mp3.com download after a search for electronica back in early 2000. the promo stuff with it said it was the tune that the russian version of NASA played ot Yuri Gagarin (?) when he left for space the first time to keep him calm. i guess thats why it appeared on the gatecrasher chillout cd. hmmm

well i gues thats all i got to say. hehehe

In my opinion, Resurection is cheese..all the muzzas like it because it is on the new Gatecrasher Digital CD. Just like Cocaine and Fire Wire it's only there to make a buck as for Space Melody im not sure i haven't heard it yet

Posted by Renegade on Apr-25-2002 15:58:

Btw, not sure how many of you realised this, but the guy who produced resurrection - DJ Pimenov or something - actually visits these boards. Spends most of his time - so far as I can tell - promoting his own gigs in the Parties Info section. Pure class.

Still he's done well to go from a no-name mp3.com amateur producer to charting world-wide to the point where he's gotten a club track - without words - onto daytime radio. I know I've caught myself whistling it a few times.

I honestly dont think PPK made ResuRection to be a commercial chart hit. It doesnt have the commercial feel to it. When I first heard it 4 odd months before the radio got a hold of it I thought it was some trippy piece of music and didnt consider buying the vinyl cause people would really dislike it. What do you know.. i was wrong

It's good to see this, i was just stating my opninion and im glad to see yours

typical response i'd expect from many people in an underground scene. once a song makes it popular with the general public it is seen as no longer being cool listening to it or even liking it anymore hence its cheese. i think songs from the likes of DJ Alligator should be called cheese, not songs that have made it to the general public.

each to there own i guess.

Posted by Chuck Norris on Apr-26-2002 05:11:

My reply had nothing to do with it going public and becomming commercial. To me this song doesn't make me feel like getting up and dancing at all.....and why sould the underground scene try to act cool when it stays out of that whole "going with trance makes us cooler than others" point of view.

fire wire.. cheese??
thats a big call..

altho i'll admit that cocaine song shits me to tears

True dat. :-/

Especially after hearing it 20 times a day at work. :-/

I don't think PPK is cheese, I think they're very talented and a very cool peice of music, i really like the Russian Space Agency sound effects, and Primenov's comments about it show how much of a ledgend he is, he said it's met to be listened to while going into space, and he'd be really impressed if people listened to it on upcoming space missions, What a champ! :-) I also think primenov is a damn fine dj, i'd love to see him live, i've got his set live in london december 2001, it's really good, not just the same mix of stuff. It's a bit annoying that crappy commercial radio thrashs a great track like ressurection and doesn't play any of PPK's other good stuff, just my thoughts,

just remembered, you can get the primenov set from the ppk site.

ah my mistake , i thought since you said "all the muzzas like it" then you were talking about it going public/becoming commercial.

some people(small portion)are into certain music simply because it is seen as underground hence it must be cool, in one of the other threads about if trance became more popular/mainstream one or two replies stated they would stop listening to it and find something else to listen too.

Posted by Chuck Norris on Apr-27-2002 03:39:

Ahh i see np, i guess this stuff happens, i certainly won't stop loving trance if it goes mainstream i think it will be pretty good as long as they keep making good tracks

Posted by Xavier on May-11-2004 12:48:

they're both good, though Space Melody wins my heart out in the end.
