I was trying something different with Joakin, the drummer. His percussion skills are off the charts, and I have played with him before, figured I would give it a shot. It was fun and intersting, and some loved it some didn't. He was only supposed to play for about 30 minutes during my set, which he did, but porter liked it so he asked him to play again. It's not a common thing for me, and I don't have any immediate plans to do it again, but from my view of the club, it certainly wasn't hurting things at the Fifth! But I understand it's not everyones bag.

well i am going on friday regardless of drummers or not...Eli = good dj and one of the nicest guys on the planet, Chris Micali is one of the most talented prouducers out just now and, tom bartlett is one of the nastiest dj i have ever heard - so underrated! Plus they bring out one of the best crowds @ rise when they play.

| Originally posted by cheshirepk8 it's not all horrible. i went to some great parties down there. there are some idjots (ok there are lots of em) but i found a way to get zen. every night when i left the party (5-6am) i would walk 3miles on south beach to get home. nothing but the waves crashing and nice ocean breeze in the pre-dawn light. noone to bother you... wish i was there now. either way, sorry about your experience. i think it depends on the venue and the sound system when you have a drummer involved. |
