R.i.p. Cdj...

One of my CDJs died today. It wont read any disc I put in it. I guess I should have expected it from shitty Gemini. I'm surprised it's lived the four years that I've had it actually. Suppose it's just a matter of time before the other deck does the same. No more DJing for a while I guess...

Get Traktor and then save up for CDJ 200s or CDJ 800s.

I had a CDJ-1000mk3 die as well. There's no avoiding it. Electronics will be fucking us over for the rest of our lives.

Better yet, get something that works, like Serato. (not being a jackass, just ribbing you a little)

Serato is the definition of something that just works!
I am still waiting for it to at least skip a little.

This is feasible for DJ'ing in your bedroom. I used to rock the Serato Scratch as well...

but then when you show up to a gig somewhere at 12:30am and say... "hey, so when can i crawl under the mixer and plug in my stupid interface box and screw with the whole setup"

game over.

i picked up the CDJs cause thats what i run into when i play out.

He would need two TTs or CDJs for Serato. Without two CDJs or TTs, Traktor is the way to go cause it's close to using equipment via software. It's a good way to still mix until you can afford something better. Or he could find Virtual DJ online, which is less expensive.

Yeah, I might try that. I've decided I'm going to start saving for CDJ 800s but it's going to take a long time.

PJ19, it is fixable. When I get time(soon, poss later today or tomorrow) I will post the instructions. don't take it apart until I do as you can easily turn it into a $800 paperweight.
