Poll: Gong Show - Good or Bad

To you, what does the phrase 'gong show' mean? I always think of it as a party that is so off the hook that it's incredible. My friend, we'll call her "Christel", thinks it's a party that is terrible.

I think it all depends on what context your saying it in e.g:-

The word " sick "

can be said in two different ways....

1) Dood thats a sick car. ( good )
2) your a sick man ( bad )

I've heard it used both ways, always to express an amazing or completely terrible party.. you can only know by the tone they say it in, lol.. all it means on its own is an event with excessive alcohol consumption as far as i know

now i challenge someone to define 'sketch' once and for all. haha

A "gong show" is something that is stupid, silly, bizarre, wacky, dumb.

It is not necessarily a positive thing (although not seriously negative either).
