Rasta mexico vs. U.S.A

sunday

discuss...

Posted by Yohan on Jun-22-2007 18:41:

Canada got fucked by latin american ref... again.

Attacking player passes ball, but deflects off defender and into path of an another attacking player is NOT offside, correct?

Posted by manu.el on Jun-22-2007 19:06:

bottom line it should have been a goal

Posted by nchs09 on Jun-22-2007 19:27:

i hope both teams get food poisoning sunday!

i really dont care for either team but my guess is that mexico will win.

Lol. I'm still bitter about it.

Not that Canada played particularly well, but they just don't get breaks from refs.

Still, I think it's been a decent tourney with some classy goals.

And crazy how Guadeloupe made it to final 4

Canada? They haven't qualified for a world cup in ages, Costa Rica usually does, and Trinidad & Tobago managed it too. Hell, even Guatemala came much closer to it than Canada.

That's also because Canada gets fucked by latin american refs A LOT.

Not the primary excuse for not making WC (cuz Canadian team sucked last 20 yrs or so) but there has been some really shocking poor calls against Canada.

This year's Canadian team isn't so bad... Actually looks half decent and plays ok from time to time

Posted by manu.el on Jun-25-2007 11:58:

stupid referee had to be from stupid Guatemala!!(he needs a throat punch)!!

congrats usa..up next for mexico: brazil (the win is in the bag)

Posted by noikeee on Jun-25-2007 12:40:

come on, refs can't be the excuse for everything. i saw that disallowed goal against the USA, and it was ridiculous lol, but that shit can't possibly happen often.

Refs usually cost Canada like 2 wins per major tourney qualifier.

Latin American refs are like the worst in the world.

Forza video replay

yes, the whole world conspires against canada. guess what, everyone gets bad calls... it happens but that should not make a team lose as often as they do. i say this fully knowing that my team sucks so save it :P

From ESPN's AM JUMP

quote:
The U.S. men's soccer team defeated Mexico 2-1 yesterday to win the Gold Cup again. And not only did we win the Gold Cup again, that's now nine wins in the last 12 meetings against Mexico. Now, I'm not one who is in favor of building a wall between the United States and Mexico, but soon we will be able to build a wall with nothing but our Gold Cups. Oh! Smack! (Or in Spanish: Oh! Bofetada!)

Yeah I agree with you.

But it is frustrating when those bad calls cost your national team matches on critical games... a lot

I live here in Mxico for 5 months so I just watched/heard about this Gold Cup for first time in my life and I must say it was really boring. American Cup or Eurocup worth, but where is the prestige to win this title.
