Has anyone here ever bought...

Has anyone here every bought their equipment Re-Boxed? I'm thinking of buying a synth re-boxed bt not exactly sure what the term means...was wondering if anyone who has bought re-boxed was dissappointed due to cosmetic/performace fallacies or what not...

just wondering, should I worry myself to death when buying re-boxed?

thanks for the help people

i had a friend buy a polar ti reboxed with no issues. what you need to care about is..

a.) will the retailer take it back in the first xx days?
b.) is there a manfuctorers warranty still on it? is it void if the synth has been sold before?

Hey thakns for your reply....

yeah theres a full 1 year warranty from the manufacturer (Access) and the place will take it back up until 45 days of usage....I was just wondering cosmetically how it would look and performance wise...but I guess that info helped me out there...thanks a lot...

Sounds like an ex-display/demo model to me.

well, I wrote Access a letter, and here's a little excerpt from what they wrote back:

Re-Boxed means they are repackaged at the factory. Usually, this means
that they were opened at some point by us (access) to showcase the
product. All the units I have seen so far have been in great cosmetic
condition and full working order. All of them carry full warranties as
well.

I got my Virus C on one of these deals. It was an ex display model but fantastic condition and was almost 400.00 cheaper than a boxed version! ( didn't know the ti was shortly to be anounced )

It's never given me any probelms at all. Well not that I can blame them for.

I dropped it and bust some of the knobs off but that's my own stupid fault.

OO ok thats good to know man, thats a relief that it came in like-NEW/excellent condition...I got an assurance from Access themselves but still I was a lil worried...

That's good to hear mate : )

A lot of people will just wait for reboxed stuff to come up rather than buy it new.

Suppose getting a warranty also gives piece of mind rather than buying second hand.

Also if you don't care how it looks very occasionally ypu can get get a cosmeticly damaged model for HUGE discounts so could be well worth hunting for.

yes. I have never had a problem. They usually throw in a 2 year warranty with it.
