Trying to figure our who the best uplifting melodic trance DJ is in the US as well as breaks...

Any suggestions?

Peace!

one is trance and the other is breaks.

Good luck. Theres not a set "best" artist for anything.

Posted by vikuna29 on Jun-22-2007 23:24:

sure

but there are some artists better than others no?

If you're looking for "popular" DJ's for those genres. Check out thedjlist.com. They have DJ's ranked (according to user votes) and you can drill down on certain genres if you want.

Point being?

ok I'll quit being an ass...

The DJMag poll is just the one with the most press. It still is retarded. I wouldn't care if I was on it or not.

popularity polls do not denote musical ability. Anyways, in tandem with the thread starter's original intention... eh..

Tayo's a pretty good breaks dj, as well as Hybrid, and probably many others, I just don't follow that genre. I should.

Uplifting melodic trance dj? Fuck all if I know, I don't really listen to that.

Don't follow djs much any more either on the whole.

i hardly listen to trance these days so i won't comment on that but as far as breaks go..
Stanton Warriors are the best breaks act i have ever seen dj...nuff said.

Krafty Kuts is the best breaks set I've seen. I really enjoyed the energy that he put into his sets.

Trance: PvD (sorry, he is still my favorite, flame me if you want)
Breaks: Don't know. [I don't really listen to breaks]

It never fails . . . someone posts a thread on a forum (clearly looking for the peoples' opinions and suggestions) and instead of suggestions he gets told, "Sorry, we can't give suggestions because everyone has their own taste. You will have to find what works for you."

Is that not what this person is trying to do by asking us what we think? I guess sucking it up and coming up with one DJ name for each section, or even one DJ period is too much to ask.

No, the problem most of the apparent jaded people have is that new people continuously join and ask the same questions as though they've never been asked before. On a board going on 80,000 members, you can bet all the simple questions have been asked. Rather than searching and browsing the site, new people tend to want the quickest response and therefore ask a question that's been asked a thousand times over.

And jaded people don't have it in them to just not post sometimes, but rather insinuate that the person should spend more time browsing rather than asking questions that have been asked many a time.

Just saying is all

...aaaand after that little brief side jaunt.

Yeah, I guess PvD is alright.

don't listen to that Armin thing though. Not trustworthy. Menno de Jong, Aly & Fila, and Jonas Steur all spin epic/uplifting too, and they're decent and not too mainstream.
