Thumbs down Where is Australias Dance music capital?

Would it be Sydney or Melbourne?

Posted by Fledz on Jun-23-2007 11:54:

Really tough to say. Depends on what particular part of EDM. Overall, I don't think I can really choose. Definitely one of those two though.

Both wicked party cities!

Enlighten a clueless canuck.

What does Melbourne have that Sydney doesn't?

Posted by eRRaTiK on Jun-24-2007 03:28:

repost!

- City with biggest club scene
- coming to australia
- Melbourne V Sydney the final conflict (classic thread - less about clubs, more about general culture)

I think this question can easily be answered by comparing the size of BEAT mag / IMPRESS mag agaisnt sydney's DRUM, 10 page target catalog of upcoming house events.

Man i read an inpress on the way home on thursday night and if i didnt start skipping huge sections id have been reading it till i got to hurstbridge, bloody awesome street mag don't sydney also have the 3D magazine?

Posted by tonydanza on Jun-24-2007 05:03:

that's a retarded comparison since drum media is more live music centric .. threedworld mag is more focused around clubbing and electronic music events

melbourne owns! BUBBLE FVCK YEAH!

Sydney is like an overgrown refugee camp.

Melboune has style.

Sorry Sydneysiders but you got no scene man when comparing to Melb..
Melbourne is the one and only EDM and clubbing capital of Southern Hemisphere.
Maybe its the weather.I dunno...

Sydney isn't all that bad if you don't mind being stabbed by gangs of so called ulehs...

yeh it's too nice in Sydney to be crammed up inside a club

Comparing Armin van Sydney to Armin van Melbourne, without doubt, Melbourne was much, much better.

Yes Melbourne owns but the comment of 'Bubble Fuck Yeah' means the following:

8 of these
4 of these
2 of these
3 of these

and 16 of these

Have a nice day

I'd pay for Bubble to move to Syd, although I'd see its underage appeal working out better in Adelaide :/

On a different note, has anyone travelled much in syd? Saw this off the SMH:

TRAIN commuters are waiting up to 10 minutes to buy their tickets on Monday mornings, more than twice as long as the target set by RailCorp.

I think if Melbournians had to wait that long there would anarchy

Lloyd...... what can i say i would definantly have to concur with that statement

Sydney just felt like it had no atmosphere, the only real reason i think people from Sydney actually attended was to be dressed in white and show themselves off

Melbourne on the other hand was out in force..... for the music, the atmosphere....

My conclusion therefore is Melbourne FTW

What is Bubble and why is the place so terrible anyway? Never been partying in Melb but I people on TA bash that club every time it's mentioned, is it just a seedy as hell venue, or what? Just curious.
