like something from outer space....

just as last year, most of Sweden has to cope with this horrid display. this vile mutilation of our fine trees cannot be stopped, and the webs and nets of the sickening display taunts our fine parks and gardens.

i'll let the pics speak for themselves..

can this be found in any other country that you know of?

the southern part is just a useless appendix that's there for no reason at all. it is not to be counted as a part of sweden.

tentworms.

we have them here but not that bad, just a few large webs in trees

Posted by metalgearsolid on Jun-24-2007 02:12:

Why isn't the Swedish Government doing anything? I thought they were into these type of things....

Posted by Sushipunk on Jun-24-2007 02:14:

Not really gross though, it's just a weird thing of nature.

+1.

I've never seen anything similar down here, but I wonder what would happen if you brought some natural predators to the affected regions. Shouldn't it solve the problem?

There's natural predators vs aliens? That would totally take a crap down hollywoods throat.

Posted by Mr.Mystery on Jun-25-2007 09:23:

I've seen those around here every now and then, except the worms. It's a bit of a freaky sight when just one tree in the middle of the forest looks like that and all the rest are normal.

Australia tried that with canetoads, not a good idea

Douse the tree in pesticide. How hard can it be?

Posted by Stanza on Jun-25-2007 13:14:

Time to get those flame throwers into action !

Yeah this happened in Ontario about 15 or so years ago.
