Read This! in a hard quality trance desert! suggestions? (scot project+yves deruyter style?)

hey all

I notice my trance thirst these days is for the latest scot project set styles... He is pretty much the only DJ that I'm loving most tracks on his set! There are a few others, like DJ Ernestoow (amazing up and coming hard trance DJ! check out his site, www.ernestoow.com u can get links to his sets from there...) And Yves DeRuyter always provides quality banging stuff but I have not seen anything new in like a year!

So what I'm asking is all you fellow TA's must know more DJ's that play this type of raw hard but true to trance type stuff? Scot project lately has been banging out some tracks that are just out of this world! I know there must be others, but alas I look and only find either prog/sleepy-trance or hardstyle...

Thanks guys! There are a group of us looking btw so this is to help a lot of people find some more quality style to listen to!

p.s. anyone find any new yves deruyter sets?

I'm not that much in the hard stuff anymore. The only one i can recommend is Ultraform. A great upcomming swedish hard-trance dj/producer. Haven't heard any of his sets yet, but he got some very good productions. He might be a bit harder than Scot and Yves though.

Lab 4's your best bet.

Alphazone

Actually, there was a hard trance recommendation thread few months back

Wink thanks more more!

hey guys!

Ultraform: A little too hardstyle, I have trance roots and hardstyle is just too much :P

Lab 4 never heard of him, but I'll keep an eye out!
Alphazone.. I remember a few of his tracks from back in the day...

I'd love to find that hard trance recommendation thread! Anyone spot it post a link (including myself..)

lol.... 'they' have split now but were/are probably the biggest hard trance act from the UK (at least I think they were British).

Check out stuff by Technikal... quality

Definitely British, and mostly did live PA, which is always wicked-cool where electronic acts are concerned.

Here's a review I wrote of their last album, if you need some additional info, BARON.

Nice set by Scot

Signum, maybe? hard, although not quite as hard as scot

You probably do better by listening to the good stuff from 01-03 or if you haven't done so give a try to the hardtrance of the mide nineties, at the moment not much around that can satisfy you.

Posted by Fjodor on Jul-04-2007 13:05:

definately such artists as Technikal, Guyver, Nick Sentience, Nick Rowland, VinylGroover & RedHead, Organ Donors, Trevor Mclachlan, Brad Thatcher, Ben Kaye, Pierre Pienaar (PHATT), Phil York, Dark by Design, Masif DJs, Lee Haslam and many others

also check harderfaster.net

cheers

DJ scot project sounds nothing like that. You mean trancecore type stuff?
Anyway one of the few recent "scot project like" tunes is DJ Dean-Ballanation 2006.

I know that they do not sound alike but he may still like it, is hardtrance after all and Deruyter was already around at that period with a timeless hit like Calling earth.

If he looks for stuff only like Scotty he may try: Steve Hill vs d10 - ready or not, the structure is a copycat of the old Scot project tracks, but this track is already 2 years old. I don't know how the newest Steve Hill productions are.

Dancing Dude hey

harderfaster.net seems to have lots of info...

I wanted to clarify: The main thing to look at is the type of music scot project / yoji / ernestoow / yves deruyter play, (yes very general hehe) more so then just 'scot project production' style... You find all sorts of tunes in their sets, but they all have this raw hard bass mixed with really emotional and powerful melodies... ahhhh nothing like it!!!

I am slowly searching for sets wth any of the above mentioned DJ's but its taking me lots of time

I used to love Kai Tracid back in the 90's.... Why does trance have to keep 'progessing' it WAS solid
