John Do [Basic] [Giant] [Proton Radio]
Justin Gourley [Basic] [Giant] [Proton Radio]
Recognized as a technically savvy DJ, John has quickly become a Los Angeles favorite by spinning a unique sound that cannot be placed in any one genre, style, or standard. Blessed with the intuitive skill of reading a crowd and the ability to spontaneously craft his set, John easily captivates the masses and effortlessly takes them on a musical journey filled with funky basslines, complex percussion, beautifully crafted melodies, and unique atmospheric elements topped off with hints of vocals for good measure.
As a resident DJ at 3 of LA's best events, Justin Gourley has seen his fair share of playtime over the last few years. 2005 kicked off with a New Years gig opening for John Digweed at the Giant Village; the country's largest 21+ New Year's Eve event and a party Justin has played along side partner in crime, John Do, for the past 3 years.
Monthly, the duo hold a residency at Avalon where they play the patio during Sasha's Fundacion party - a gig that has brought global exposure and accolades for keeping the floor packed and sweaty till the wee hours of sunday morning. Be sure not to miss John & Justin as they make their return to Housexy and offer you up a slice of LA, and find out why they are 2 of the most in demand DJ's from the West Coast!

Derek Howell [Bedrock, Fade Records]
When the underground dance bug hit south-western America Derek quickly dropped his guitar and picked up turntables. After listening, fervently, to the sounds of the time in Dance Music (Sasha, John Digweed, Dave Seaman), Derek decided that he wanted to spread the good news. He strove to create something fuelled by his musical roots, but driven by the future. To this day he has sought to invent a place where the products of his musical hay day and his visions of the future of Dance Music can come together and groove.

Those are our fuckin boys! You guys will not be dissapointed.
Seriously though, John & Justin are fantastic DJs, John especially is always inspiring me. Everytime I see him play he drops sick house that I just cant find anywhere. A few weeks ago at basic I asked him where he gets his tracks, and he informed me that he picks up the direct line to Master P's lair and tells him to send a CD full of his most up-front shit.
I'm looking forward to hearing Derek in the Lair.
+1 (big time!)
Hotttttt show. Get a taste of LA, Chicago, and Denver all at the same time.

Hey guys... I'm one of the Denver DJs that's going to be playing in the Lair on Friday (Aaron Blauer). I'd love to meet up with some of you guys while I'm out there. Let me know or send me a PM or something.

They had 2 rooms with dj's, the lair and the dome room. The shut down the lair where derek howell was supposed to play around...1:30 2 maybe.... i can't remember, but derek howell didn't play. I also vaguely recall a power failure statement somewhere
Yeah, they said they had power problems downstairs and so they stopped having people play down there after Sam Gracie, it was really too bad that Derek didn't get to play.
John Do and Justin Gourley were fantastic though, really nice guys too. Very technically impressive.
yea it was a lot of fun upstairs
Holy hell ?! Derek didn't play ?! That's a damn shame. He's soooo awesome. I used 2 kick it wit derek back in houston when he would be in town.
