Southern Sun lirycs

I might have been posted before, but I couldn't find it with 'search'. I need lirycs for Southern Sun, so if you have them post them here.
Cheers, vmc

these are the lyrics written by me
it's from the original mix which is a little different in the lyrics than the tiesto mix

piece by piece i'm released
once was mine now i'm done
turn blue like u or me
and don't lie southern sun

i still feel u beneath my skin
i am tempted to throw my senses in

cause it's easier to fly
now to face in that i lie in southern sun
and your love is always around

piece by piece i'm released
once was mine now i'm done
turn blue like u or me
and don't lie southern sun

i still feel u beneath my skin
i am tempted to throw my senses in

cause it's easier to fly
now to face in that i lie in southern sun
and your love is always around
and in the end to set me free

you last night i saw you reflected
i am this is all it meant a reaction

i still feel u beneath my skin
i am tempted to throw my senses in

cause it's easier to fly
now to face in that i lie in southern sun
and your love is always around
and in the end to set me free

cause it's easier to fly
and in the end to set me free

i like the orginal lyrics better

This is what I make of it, because no post to date exactly fits what I hear. I've compared different mixes and come to my own conclusions. Below are the lyrics of the Original Promo Mix. All the other versions simply move them around a bit.

Piece by piece
I release
Once was mine
Now undone
Turn blue like New Orleans
And went down like
The southern sun
I still feel you
Beneath my skin
I am tempted
To throw myself to th'sea
'Cause it's easier to fly
Than to face another night of southern sun
And your love is all around

Piece by piece
I release
Once was mine
Now undone
Turn blue like New Orleans
And went down the southern sun
I still feel you
Beneath my skin
I am tempted
To throw myself to th'sea
'Cause it's easier to fly
Than to face another night of southern sun
And your love is all around
And in the end you set me free

You last like a song undeflated
I'm pieces on the wind unrelated

I still feel you beneath my skin
I am tempted
To throw myself to th'sea
Cause it's easier to fly
Than to face another night of southern sun
And your love is all around
In the end you set me free
'Cause it's easier to fly
And in the end you set me free

The song is about a woman who cannot let go of her past relationship and still feels the pain of lost love within herself. The setting "southern sun" is a metaphor for her sadness. She cannot face another night of the "southern sun" because she cannot endure the sleepless nights of mourning lost love. She contemplates suicide, "flying" into the sea, as an escape to her misery. It's really a very beautiful song.

I might have a word or two wrong, but I'm very sure that these are the correct lyrics.

Odd discrepancy in Tiesto mix

I've found an odd twist to the lyrics:

The official Tiesto remix lyrics are like what I wrote above, but in the liveset Tiesto mix rip that everyone got early there is a slight difference.

'Cause it's easier to drown
Than to face the way of this insanity
Then the truth comes back around
In the end you're not for me

There might be other differences, but I'm not sure. Personally I think these sound better than the final lyrics.

ooh...that's even more depressining...

that's the In Search of Sunrise mix, right?

Posted by Cobalt on Apr-15-2002 00:48:

Oh, that's right!

I forgot there were two Tiesto remixes. The alternate lyrics might be from the In Search of Sunrise aka Tiesto remix 2. Thanks!

i agree with oyu mostly..

she sings
quote:
'Cause it's easier to fly
Than to face another night of southern sun

which means that it is easier to fly, ie. accomplish the impossible for humans, than to live through another night without her love.

Posted by Photo_bot_2k1 on Apr-15-2002 03:41:

i agree with drizzt
thats probably what it means...

altho it could aslo have somethign to do witht he migratory habits of certain species of birds who will fly north now that the southern sun is setting...

yeah... its probably what drizzt said...

this is exactly what it sounds like in the version i have. makes a lot more sense than anything else i've read.

Yeah, it could be that. The only reason I thought "fly" referred to her suicide was because it sounds like "drown" in the other version of the lyrics.

Nonono..

the lyrics are..

This song sucks
Please stop talking about me
Why are there so many threads on me
Just let me die.

I am cheesy sounding
So many songs are better
Just let me fade into obscurity
Just let me die.

x10.

Listen closely. In the Dutch Dimension version it's also "Cause it's easier to fly" The following three scentenses are indeed different. You can hear this very well in the Solar Stone chill out mix. They used both versions of the lyrics in that one...

In some senses, fly = run away...
Thus it's easier for her to run away (fly away) than to face another night without her love etc etc

Just a different interpretation

I see where you are coming from and I have heard the "drown" version too.
But it might just be that at first, in the beginning of the song, she is trying to still go on with life, without her lover, while in the end she decided that it is easier for her to drown herself, since she cannot "fly".

ps.: I base most of these assumptions on the 'Solar Stone Chillout Mix'.
