I think 7/19 I'll drop my usual shit and on 7/20 we'll go with a full dose of D. Ramirez, Eric Prydz, and Mark Knight.

You will come out a winner on both occasions. Every song that went over well @ Emersion cleared the floor @ Cherry Red the next day, Cosmonite brought them back and Mark Knight went ove huge.

In regards to what noises please me at the moment: Cicada, lot & lots of Cicada!

for those that weren't around back then, the "musical big bang" of 1993 spewed forth all sorts of dance genres across the universe, all of which were at wildly different tempos (even within each of the new genres). unfortunately 14 years later a black hole has emerged, sucking everything back in with such an enormous force that in the next few years it will be impossible to produce a record at anything other than 128 BPM.

at that point, everything will all be called house again, so this is all just a pre-emptive move towards the inevitable homogenization of all dance music back to it all being called "house" (well, short of jungle, which was abducted by aliens and taken to an alternate universe, thus avoiding the pull of this black hole).

I'm starting to long for the days that:
A) trance was at 150 BPM and 140 was slooooooow
B) hearing a record at 129 BPM and thinking "can I play this at +8 without it sounding funny?"

Looking at your musical influences of the early 90's on your MySpace page, I'm not too surprised we have similar tastes.
