U-20 Fifa World Cup - Canada

Is anybody else going to see any of the games? I've got tickets to go see both of Portugal's games in T.O. against New Zealand and Mexico.

Toronto will make a nice target for a terrorist attack, with all the world-wide exposure. I hope security is taken seriously.

Are you serious? Terrorists usually have motive for attacks. What did Canada ever do to piss off anyone?

We haven't been taken off of Al-Qaida's target list yet... people forgot about that.

We Canadians think we're too nice, and things like that can never happen here... and that's the mentality they're looking for.

For heaven's sake, I sure hope that I'm wrong.

If we all move to Brampton during the Under 20 soccer we will be fine.

I checked ticket master and everything is sold out.

Only a handful of games are in Toronto, so those went pretty quickly.

yeah it seems to be impossible to get tickets to soccer games in toronto

toronto fc is basically sold out for the whole season.... need to have a bigger stadium or something

I'm sure they could put a nice soccer field inside the Roger's Centre or something...

Haven't they played like friendly games between European clubs in there?

Soccer stadium to be in Roger's centre?? NO WAY! Soccer field should be on its on. Make it a decent size to be able to hold about 80,000

80000?

LOL!

There are few stadiums in the world that has that sort of capacity. Certainly less than 10.

u'd be surprised.

and that's not counting 90000+ or 100000+ stadiums.

Well there's a difference between capacity and seats...

I'm guessing Yohan was reffering to actual seats...

Also, that stadium list, didn't just list soccer stadiums, but it had motor speedway capacities and other stuff like that..

But there is no way we could ever fill an 80,000 arena w/ soccer fans.

Ok maybe i went a little overboard.... however there is way more than 10 that have a capacity of 80,000.

Something that seats 35,000 - 40,000 would be very sufficient. And I personally prefer, and think it would be nicer to have a stadium with the seating covered. But again budget comes into play

"all-seater" = capacity based on seats.

He said stadiums, not Soccer stadiums...just pointing it out buddy.

"we" probably couldn't fill it though...you're right about that...or maybe for a one time soccer event, but definitely not consistently.

However, there are probably more soccer fans in the city than baseball fans, and when the jays were in the World Series (consecutively) they sold out each time.

I was talking about football specific stadium.

I'm not sure if Toronto FC can fill in 40,000 on consistent basis. I mean that's twice the capacity of BMO field right now.

I believe avg. stadium capacity for English premier league is around 30,000-32,000 or something like that.

Definitely not.

Toronto has shown they that only support winning teams (besides the Leafs, but if they continue to miss the playoffs for several more years, you might see their fan base drop.)

You can see that w/ Baseball, Basketball, Football...when we start losing, fans stop coming.

Give Toronto FC another year or two before the excitement starts wearing off and the fanbase drops...unless they are doing well.

Toronto fans like to jump on the bandwaggon when things are going well...and could give two shits if were loosing...

except for about 4-5 that are under 30,000 most are between 35,000-45,000 and only a few are 50,000+
