SFTA Dinner/Meet this Friday before Ferry

Ok guys it's been at least several weeks since our last dinner party so I thought since this is Frankie's last night here plus we have Ferry in town early for his 8pm Virgin megastore signing and dj set, why not make a big deal out of it?

Disko and I were thinking dinner downtown -> Virgin -> Ruby -> ??? -> profit.

What do you think...?

Disko says something quick and close to Ruby Skye if we meet after Ferry @ Virgin records; Naan & Curry or Lori's (might be too small for a large party)... 9:30-10:30ish?

6:00 might be kinda early since people get off work around then... rush hour would be a pain in the ass too...

Great idea! We will be catching some sleep at the Westin St. Francis during the day.

Dinner should start around 6:00 - 6:30pm just to give enough time for eating, drinking, gettin to Virgin, etc. Make it an easy place to get into on Friday night.

Me and the crew will be retarted at dinner, since our brains will still be in Vegas, just to warn ya

save some brian for sf

DiskoDave, never recommend curry before going to a club again. lol

I love Curry, but I don't want the place to wreak like it when we all start sweating.

Dunno if I can make it yet, especially that early.

Dave

There will be a lot of Brian for SF

Thats true Matt about the timing of 6pm. I forgot I was on vacation Dinner should be somewhere between Virgin and Ruby since Ferry probably wont be there right at 8. So the in-store might go a little later.

i was thinking westfield shopping center. they have a BOMB ASS food court that's also pretty cheap (full meal under $10) and it's located just off market in between virgin and ruby skye. actually it's just one block south of virgin!

Yeah, most of us arn't on tour with Ferry...

I was thinking we should all get a quick bite somewhere since we are sorta pressured with time. Naan & Curry can hold TONNNS of people and we can individually order there. Lori's Diner is also a block from Ruby, but it will only suit us if we had 10 or less people planning to attend.

That sounds like a good idea... wide variety ... are they open past nine?

they should be! it's attached to the metreon and it's friday night ffs

i usually eat at long life noodle (chinese) but they also have buckhorn grille (bbq/salads/sandwiches), firewood cafe (italian), jillian's (?), luna azul (mexican) and sanraku (japanese/sushi).

here's a link, any better ideas?

http://www.communitywalk.com/pivotallunch#00033qf

there's a lot of pizza and thai joints in the area also?

That's a pretty gourmet food court. Looks bomb! If they are open late enough, this would be a great spot!

Hello! DO I GET A SAY!!!

I actually think that the Food Court @ Westfield is a GREAT idea. We can easily accomidate ANY number of people and their is a HUGE variety....plus many of the places sell beer. I like Lori's too, they should be able to accomidate us....specially the one @ Powell St.

IF not....we can ALWAYS do Naan-Curry for DAVE T....i hear he loves the spices B4 a show

Westfield closes at 9pm on Friday...

The one at the Metreon, right? I have been there around 10pm on a weekend, so I know its open late. Noodle soup is nice and light; perfect before a night of dancing. Long Life gets my vote

Posted by R!CH on Jun-26-2007 23:12:

yeah my bad, this food court is in the metreon, not westfield. it is still only a block away from virgin

Posted by Andrieux on Jun-26-2007 23:16:

The lady at the Metreon said the food court is open until 10:30pm on Friday.

I say Cafe Mason.

Lefty O'douls is great....(It didn't occur to me earlier) pretty good choice and very cheap, you also don't need any reservations - very similar to Tommy's Joint on Van Ness...but they are an ALL MEAT operation....not good if we're gonna have any Vegeterians.

They do have LOTS of Beer on Tap and they are also very close to RS (Powell & O'farell)....if no Vegeterians are coming - I'm Down!!

Let's put it to a Vote

Posted by DaveT on Jun-27-2007 09:24:

Where is everyone planning on being between Ferry's time at Virgin (imagine it's only an hour) and Ruby? You all head over to Ruby at 9pm? That's hella early, hehe.

Asking because I'm not sure if I can make it into the city until 9pm or after so I can try meeting up with everyone wherever they are at after Virgin.
